I’m excited to have hit 12 weeks! I always breath a sigh of relief at 12 weeks and feel like I accomplished something really important. 🙂  I’m feeling a little bit better, every day is still different and I need a lot of rest, but I see progress!

I have been able to be more involved with homeschooling, and doing lots of one on one work with the children this week. That is enough to exhaust a mama that isn’t pregnant! 🙂 Normally I crash in the afternoon, shut the books and go take a nice long nap while the boys finish up their school.

Yesterday some friends planned a trip to a new park that opened up near us. It was so much fun! I was able to sit and visit with a few friends while the children all played. There is a huge climbing area there, and while it isn’t the best place to bring a toddler, all my older children had a blast.

Fun at a new park near us! You can see some of the climbing areas behind Carrianna in this picture. There was even a zip line, and I was feeling adventurous enough to go on one mild zip line ride. Some of the children went crazy fast, but my pregnant tummy couldn’t handle that. My sister took a video of me riding the zip line. Yes, I wore jeans with a tunic shirt to the park in case I had to rescue a child from the climbing area. 🙂

I came home and took a long nap and crashed for the rest of the night, but it was worth it. 🙂

I’m in that awkward in-between stage of outgrowing my regular clothes, but not quite in maternity clothes. The jeans I had on were maternity jeans, and the full panel was so comfortable. I’m not liking elastic skirts right now, but they stretch for my tummy!  I’m reaching for my maxi skirts a lot more these days.

If you are expecting a baby, how you are doing?

10 Comments on Pregnancy Update: Week 12!

  1. YAY for week 12!! That is exciting and I’m continuing to pray that you feel better and better. I just hit week 13 and the difference between week 11 and now is unbelievable! I feel human again. I am able to hold conversations with my husband and son. I am able to go over homework. I am able to sit and eat dinner with them. Many I have not been able to do over the last 8 weeks, I am now able to and am praising Jesus! I can even plan to attend events and am going to a 1 day womens conference in 2 weeks (which I was not doing for a long time bc I was uncertain of how I would feel).

I find that I can not stand for long periods of time as it brings on nausea so I have adjusted to that. And I could not imagine going through the first trimester, or my pregnancy at all, without the help and support of my husband, son and family. They have truly picked up the ball that I have not been able to carry.

Even in the midst of a difficult 1st trimester, we are all extremely grateful for this precious blessing that will be joining us in March <3

  2. Oh, I am soooo happy for you hitting the 12 week mark!!! Praying that all continues to go well. I am always thankful to hit the 12 week mark too :).
This week we hit the “safe to have Baby at home” mark :). I am sooooooooo excited!!! I can’t wait to hold Baby :). This has been one of the harder pregnancies but I am very thankful for another sweet little Babe to love and raise.
My all time favorite pregnancy skirt is the black maxi from your shop … it has been now in service for over 3 years pregnant and not 🙂 with the rainbow the second … though that would be nicer if it had a full stretch panel in the front.

  3. That climbing area looks like a lot of fun! So glad you’re feeling a bit better now that you’ve hit the 12 week mark, those first couple months can be challenging to get through. I’m 15 weeks along and am starting to feel more energetic now. I too am in that in-between stage where my usual clothes don’t fit but most maternity wear would be too big so I find myself sticking with my stretchy maxi skirts most days.

  4. I love your blog! Thanks so much for all of your encouragement!

Happy 12 weeks!!!! What a great milestone 🙂

I’m 19 weeks with my second! First baby just turned 1 🙂 I have had a pretty good pregnancy so far but I’m still on medicine for severe sickness. Hoping I’ll be off of the pills soon!

I was so excited to learn we’re pregnant together 🙂

    Praying for you!!!

  5. Yay for feeling better!
I’m now in week 17 and finally finding some energy coming back! I’ve had some nesting instincts and so even though it exhausts me, I try to get lots done in that time.

  6. I am glad you are starting to feel better. I am at week 14 with baby #5. I am not as tired these days but still like to take a long afternoon nap when I am able. We are moving internationally this week. I am so thankful for my husband helping me out these past few weeks while I pack up the house.

  7. Yay! I’m so glad you are feeling better. That park looks really fun. With my last baby I enjoyed wearing my regular clothes until 25 weeks by using a belly band (from target.) I really liked those–had them in 3 colors 🙂

  8. Congratulations on 12 weeks! I am not pregnant now but when I was where you are I LIVED in Maxi skirts and I never really got over it. LOL I still wear them a lot. They are just so comfortable! Be well!
