Homemaking – A Work In Progress (Plus an AMAZING Resource for you!)

Two sisters. Same parents. Same type of upbringing. Same goals for their lives.

Totally different personalities.

Having been raised by a mom who was strong in organizing, list making, and delighted in all things homemaking, one sister has followed in her mom’s footsteps while the other one has struggled to keep up with it all.

Just as an example, one sister writes down things on her to do list after she has done it, just so she can get the joy of actually checking it off. The other sister only shakes her head at the thought of doing such a thing.

You might have guessed it. I’m talking about my sister and I. We are the best of friends, but when it comes to housekeeping we are o-so-different.

The other day my sister was lamenting about how messy her house was. I kinda smirked inside and told her I had to see this, so I followed her into her house. Her “mess” was laundry that needed folded in the living room (nothing else was out of place) plus some dirty dishes in the sink. Gasp. 😉 I mean, I’d feel like I was having a Martha Stewart moment if that’s all I the mess I had in my house, lol.

Growing up I always wanted to be just like my sister. When it comes to homemaking, I still wish I had her ability to just instantly jump in and know exactly what to do. I have not accepted defeat though. I continually work and strive to learn how to organize and tend to my home better. I’m determined to conquer this!

I was honored, humbled, and downright scared when I was recently asked to speak for an online homemaking conference.
