Modest Monday and a Link Up!
I was planning on taking pictures this weekend, but I’ve been in bed for several days with a nasty head cold. So I came up with the idea to share some maternity pictures, for all you pregnant mamas! I put together a simple collage.
When I’m pregnant I love finding maternity clothes at thrift stores, garage sales, and children’s consignment sales. Online I like getting some at Zulily, a daily discount site for women and children. My staple item I wore a lot of is the denim ruffled maternity skirt, and then I find lots of cute tops to wear with it. As you can see in the pictures, I layer a lot with maternity tops. So many of them are lower cut, so it’s easiest for me to just purchase the ones I like and then layer them with a cropped cami.
What is your favorite thing to wear when pregnant?Â

I just loved that you shared pictures of yourself while you were pregnant. For a minute there I thought you were pregnant NOW. How is your foot healing up?? I am sorry to hear you have a cold since it is so hard to be feeling under the weather as a mom. Get better soon and I will pray for you.
Thanks for taking the time to host the linkup today!!
The foot is healing up really well! I’m still staying off of it, but am hoping to put some weight on it with the walking boot on in a week or two. 🙂 Thanks for asking!
Love the photo collage – always so stylish! 🙂 When I was pregnant, I pretty much wore the same shirts and skirts, I just added some new maternity tops (like the basic tees with the cinch sides). I think the next time around, I’ll work ahead of time and really hunt out some good deals. I love skirts because they had the elastic or drawstring waist and I could wear my normal non-button skirts until I gave birth! And a lot of my tops have that stretchy material so it just stretched as I grew.
Blessings,
Nicole @ WKH
You look so nice when pregnant…you are slender which makes you look elegant in skirts~ pregnant or not. I LOVE to wear skirts and do so, often, however they just make me look heavier…which I am *not* a fan of! 🙂
Thanks for hosting!
Thanks so much for hosting! Hope you get well soon. My favorite thing to wear when I’m pregnant is a knit dress. It’s easy, pretty, and comfortable.

I would like to gently suggest that merely covering your body does not necessarily mean that you are being modest. Even if my skin is covered, if my clothes are tight & my figure is being displayed, that is not modest. Knits, especially, tend to display our figures – skirts tend to cling & display our rears no less than pants would & tops cling to our chests & make breasts a display that draws the attention of others to our anatomy. Some women who are small chested tend to think they can get away with it because they are small, but some men like small chested women, so it makes no difference to them, they will still admire the womanly form, small as it may be!
It can be a little more difficult to be fashionable & feminine while not emphasizing/displaying our curves, but I think that it is a worthwhile endeavor.
