Hey y’all! I’m Olivia Howard from Fresh Modesty. I am happy to be guest posting today while Caroline snuggles with her new baby! I live in beautiful middle Tennessee where I was loving spring, until our 70* days turned back to winter-like 40* weather. So today I thought I’d share 5 tips for dressing in spring fashions even when it’s still chilly outside.
Tip #1: Linen skirts are a perfect transitional piece. They adjust for hot or cold temperatures and are neither too heavy for spring nor too flimsy for early April.
Tip #2: Light colors! The white linen and pink printed skirt really makes this outfit season-appropriate. I chose to pair it with brown instead of black simply to keep it fresher.
Tip #3: While still trying to layer for warmth, avoid heavy accessories like scarves, knit beanies, and anything with fuzz or fur. You can also probably put away your fleece-lined leggings and pull out the cotton capris-length ones from the bottom of the drawer.
Tip #4: Although chunky knits are out, light cashmere or tight-knit cardigans are definitely in! This cardigan is very warm, although it’s in a springtime color, which allows me to go without a coat.
Tip #5: Let your hair down! It’s been cooped up in buns and ponytails all winter long because, let’s face it, we all hate the static it creates with our sweaters. An easy, casual hairstyle will add an air of springtime joy to your ensemble.
