Patriotic Outfit for the 4th of July!

Here is the outfit I wore for the 4th of July! I love the skirt I’m wearing, it’s a brand new skirt from eShakti (a website where you can customize the length and style of the dress or skirt!). It’s a chambray skirt that even has pockets. Super comfortable and it’s on sale right now!

If I look stiff in the picture, it’s because we are scrambling to get out the door, I have all my children in the front of the yard watching me take pictures, my baby is in the living room getting antsy for me to take her, and I’m worried that my oldest child won’t get the pictures taken right and that I’ll have to ask my busy husband to stop and take them. Just a reality check that there is so much you don’t see happening in online pictures. 🙂 The life of a mommy blogger can be a huge juggling act.

Liberty Bow flexi clip from LIlla Rose

I always fix my hair up for the 4th of July, as we spend the day outside with friends and family. Some years it is scorching hot, but this year it was really nice outside! The Liberty Bow flexi clip is a favorite of mine, I wore it last year and love it this year just as much. 🙂

  1. I love your hair clip, that is very pretty and festive! Your right unless you have a blog yourself, you have no idea what’s going on in the background outside of your photos. My photos are normally right at our dinner time and here lately, it’s hectic trying to get them taken and then sit down to eat before things get cold. Thank you for hosting and have a wonderful week!

  2. It’s been a while since I’ve joined in the link parties, Caroline, but yours is always one that encourages me. Thanks so much for hosting each week!

  3. I love the hairstyle, it’s very cute! I’m jealous of how much hair you have….mine is so thin, that it just sticks to my head 🙂

  4. Does anyone have any tips for a 14 year old girl who wants to start dressing in only skirts and dresses? I’m afraid I’ll be judged and my family won’t support me.

  5. I don’t want to be bothersome, but I would really appreciate it if someone answered me. Yesterday I went into Target wearing a maxi skirt and a modest top and everyone was staring. It made me really uncomfortable. Any suggestions/

    • I think I answered you in a different blog post that you left a comment on. You might not have seen it. I really don’t think you have to worry about being stared at in a maxi skirt, they are SO popular right now and I see lots of girls all different ages wearing them! Maybe they were looking because you looked pretty in it. 🙂 I would do what you feel convicted to wear, and try not to worry about what others think (Easier said than done). Since you are 14 however, have you talked to your parents about this? I would definitely do that, even if you don’t think they would understand and see what they say.

  6. Love this look i hope you enjoyed you 4th of July, I love the skirt simple but easy to dress up or down and I am in Australia and eShakti and they do not ship to Aus but i have 50 skirts already and 74 Dresses and 32 pants so i am trying not to buy any more, I have a big wardrobe as i have Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and i need different fabrics and textures and colors to feel comfy depending in the day.
