How I Scrubbed Our Dirty Shower Clean, And What I Used!
Recently I scrubbed our shower properly. I often wipe it down, but it needed a thorough scrubbing. I tend to avoid those jobs because they honestly wipe me out, but I was in a deep cleaning mood and attacked it a few weeks ago.
We have an older shower that shows the dirt easily. The walls are easy to keep clean, but the actual bathtub had a lot of grime that needed some deep elbow grease. I managed to get it looking pretty amazing, and my husband was so happy! 🙂
If you have a shower that needs scrubbed, here are my tips…
First, make sure you are using the proper sponge. I started out with a washcloth and that did nothing. Then I tried using a scrub brush and that still didn’t work. I finally grabbed our kitchen sponge (the yellow sponges with the green scrub part on it that you can buy at Walmart). It was the perfect choice.
Here is the secret of how I was able to get all the dirt scum scrubbed away and make the tub sparkling white and clean again (it was really bad before!). I used Mrs. Meyer’s surface scrub, and it was amazing! I had tried several different spray cleaners and nothing was working until I grabbed this scrub.
Once again I fell in love with Mrs. Meyer’s cleaning products. We use almost all of Mrs. Meyer’s products in our home, and since my children help with a lot of the daily cleaning jobs I feel really good knowing they are using a safe product. I’m so not interested in making my own cleaning products, and when I’ve tried before I have not liked the results!
Do you need a new set of cleaning products? For a very limited time all new customers to ePantry can receive a cleaning caddy full of Mrs. Meyer’s products for free when you place a $20 order!
I love getting all my cleaning products from ePantry, because it is delivered straight to my door! I also get all of my disposable diapers from them, because they sell Seventh Generation Diapers!
So what exactly comes in this cleaning kit?
- A Cleaning Caddy (You can organize all your products!)
- Grove Kitchen Towel (Select your color)
- Mrs. Meyer’s Dish Soap (You choose the scent!)
- Mrs. Meyer’s Hand Soap (You choose the scent!)
- Grove Walnut Scrubber Sponge (I want to try these!)
How do you order this kit?
Go to ePantry and answer a few questions about your household. The deal will then be automatically added to your cart, and you can go adjust the scents and the color of the towel.
Don’t forget to add the extra $20 in products to check out! Based on your answers they will automatically add a few items to your cart as suggestions, but it’s really easy to go and change out those products. I just grabbed this deal and got the Grove Soy Candle (they smell so good!), a glass spray bottle, and of course more baby diapers! The lip balm from Grove is my favorite lip balm ever, so you might want to try that also!
Here is an example of what you could get in your order! You can totally go in and change this around, it just gives you an idea of what you can get!

ePantry currently does not ship to Canada, Hawaii or Alaska.

Mrs. Meyer’s products are our favorite!!! My 5-year-old girl loves helping me clean with them. The scrub you mentioned is the best! We have it in the lemon verbena scent and I use it on our tub, glass-top stove (it gets the burn marks off easily) and sinks. We have the bluebell dish soap out which smells lovely 🙂 and the glass cleaner, honeysuckle all purpose spray and a couple of the laundry products (that actually work in our HE front loader on my husband’s dirty work clothes!). Their hand soap is great too, but we ran out of that. The candles smell beautiful… All of the scent smell great – Apple, lilac, cranberry, rhubarb, parsley just to name a few… (Truth be told…My older sister lives in near where these products are made (Minneapolis) and gets them for me, my mom, our other sister and sisters-in-law at a great price and brings them home for us in sets, which is the reason why I have so many! But they work and smell great) 😀 Epantry sounds pretty convenient though. I have friends that use it that get all of their toiletries, cleaning supplies and baby products there. Thanks for sharing the deal!
For the most part I love ePantry and their products! But I was very disappointed in that Walnut Scrubber Sponge :/
It did not do much “scrubbing” and got really gross, really quickly. I tried washing it in the dishwasher and the washing machine but it still looked nasty after I only actually used it two times. Then the other sponge (it was a pack of two) actually started looking like it was growing some type of mold after only one use!
I do love the Mrs Meyer’s and Method products though!
Good to know! I’ll stick with my basic sponge from Walmart then. 😉
I wondered if anyone has had any problems joining a VIP club. I joined JustFab and it is extremely hard to get out of their “clutches”. If you don’t choose product by the beginning of each month you are automatically charged via your credit card $39.95. Granted this becomes a credit on their website BUT I didn’t realize that I was being charged until it had happened several times. I just wondered if ePantry was the same way. Anyone know?
I’ve been a member of ePantry for over a year now, and it’s extremely easy to go in and make sure you are not receiving any orders each month. Plus, they email you before they ship your order and make sure you want it. I have it set up to not receive anything for months, unless I go in and automatically put together an order.
