DIY Fall Flower Arrangement {Day 8}

DIY Fall Flower Arrangement

If you haven’t priced fall flower arrangements lately, you might be in for a startle when you look! A fall wreath I really liked at Hobby Lobby was $100, and I can’t justify even spending half of that . I had a large tub of really nice fall flowers sitting in storage, so I got them out and decided to put together some arrangements of my own.

I’m not a florist. I’ll give that disclaimer. If you are a professional florist you will see flaws in my arrangement. 🙂 My mom loved to put arrangements together, and was a natural at it without being trained for it. She did all the silk flower arrangements for my sister’s wedding, and they were beautiful! I’ve watched her, and sat in one class. That is the extinct of my knowledge. 🙂

To make my flower arrangement, I purchased a basket at Hobby Lobby, using my 40% off coupon of course! I also purchased three new pieces to put in the arrangement, all of which were 50% off at Hobby Lobby. I love how burlap is being used for decorating, and the pumpkins and sunflower were calling my name when I saw them!

Fall Arrangement Supplies

 This is the basic supplies I started with. I grabbed some more flowers from my tub when I realized I need to fill it in more.

Basket

 Before I put the foam down I laid a plastic sack down so the green foam wouldn’t get the basket dirty. I’ll probably use this for other things once fall is over!

Fall Flower Arrangement

 This is the end result! Our living room consists of a couch, a chair, 1 bookshelf that I can use for decorating on and one children’s bookshelf that does not have a top on it. So space is pretty limited to put things on. I set this by our front door, next to the children’s bookshelf.

You don’t have to be perfect to make decor items for your home. Just try it and see what happens! I wasn’t very confident in this arrangement, but my husband kept encouraging me so I stuck with it.

  1. I think you did an outstanding job! I love decorating for fall by placing a few accents like this this around the house.

  2. Floristry is a state of mind and you are a florist. I like what you did here and anyway what counts is that you like it. Fall or autumn as we say here has the best of both worlds. There are still many of the summer flowers available and you can mix them with colors like this that are just coming in. BTW I especially like your sunflower. Keep it up.
