Clean Sweep: Time To Add Some Beauty!

I made some good progress on our bedroom yesterday! Here are some before and after pictures.

Messy Dresser Pictures! 

This is my husband’s dresser but we both use the top of it for setting things on it.

My dresser – not hard to guess with the clothes on top. 🙂

Our laundry stacker that is right when you come in the bedroom – school books, recipes, and my purse in an attempt to keep it from my 3 year old (she loves my chapstick and lipgloss!) are on top.

Clean Dresser Pictures!

I took some things off his dresser, dusted it, and added the candles. The round box holds all his loose change and odds and ends.

My dresser – the wooden box is where I hold my earrings and such (and every great once in a while a special note ends up there from my husband!). I also added a basket for all the books My husband and I are reading right now. Several books in that pile are business books I will probably just browse through. 🙂

We recently purchased a new computer for my husband so the laptop is now mine to use and it needed a place besides the desk! This seemed like a good place as I can charge it here as well, and sit in bed and blog, or take it to the living room.

Physical Challenge

Today we are finishing up in the master bedrooms! Now is your chance to rearrange furniture, vacuum the floors, and take an overall look at your room. Do you want to remove some decorations, or need to add some? Candles or Scentsy Warmers make lovely additions to the master bedroom. If you need to purchase something, make a list (or a list for when the money comes!) and put it in your purse so you won’t lose it. My Scentsy Warmer lid broke in our move, so I ordered a new lid yesterday. We currently don’t have any pictures hanging up in our bedroom. I’m looking for a frame to put some pictures of just my husband and I in. Make your room as romantic or as masculine as your husband likes it to be. My husband doesn’t mind the feminine touch I add to our bedroom, but I know other husbands prefer the bedroom looking more neutral. 🙂

Spiritual Challenge

Love is patient, love is kind….we have all heard that repeated at weddings many times. Being patient with your husband can be a difficult challenge. They get to know you like no one else does, they see all your little faults and errors, and sometimes life brings along stress and tension that tempts us to be impatient with those that we love best. Today our spiritual challenge is to pray about our marriage, and consider if we are responding to our husband in love and charity, or if we are constantly put out with him, and irritated.

Reading J.R.Miller’s thoughts on marriage always brings me encouragement. Here is a quote from the book “Home-making” to ponder on today.

“A true wife makes a man’s life nobler, stronger, grander, by the omnipotence of her love “turning all the forces of manhood upward and heavenward.” While she clings to him in holy confidence and loving dependence she brings out in him whatever is noblest and richest in his being.
