Celebrating Our 18th Wedding Anniversary At Dry Creek Cabin!
Sean and I recently celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary, which is so crazy to think of! After the year we have had, we knew getting away together was essential. Between Covid, selling a house, moving into a travel trailer, the pregnancy, and life in general, we needed the time away!
Going just a few hours away from us at Dry Creek Cabin was amazing. We had been there once before, years ago with my sister and brother in law for the weekend and remember how peaceful it was. Thankfully we were able to book a few days there last minute, since we did it during the week. Once we got there, we never left!
If you are anywhere near the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, I highly recommend this place as a couple’s getaway, or a family getaway! We would love to take our whole family there for a few days and unplug from technology and the craziness of life around us. A big plus (to us on this trip anyway) – we could hardly get any cell reception while there. Sean had to climb a big hill to call anyone! It’s a so refreshing to unplug for a few days. 🙂
I didn’t take any pictures of the inside, but it’s decorated in a rustic, log cabin theme. There is a master bedroom with an attached bath, as well as a loft with a bed, and then another bathroom downstairs. We brought all our own food and Sean grilled some yummy hamburgers one night! The kitchen has everything you need, and it also has a washer and dryer!
The rustic barn is so sweet, and makes a great photo backdrop! Of course, I just had to take a few maternity pictures in front of it. 🙂
The jeans and maternity shirt are from the latest Stitch Fix box I received. Their maternity clothes are awesome – pretty much my favorites!
We went when I was 30 weeks pregnant. I was still able to (slowly) do a hike, and feel confident in being away.
This is part of the hike we went on. The cabin sits on 100 acres. It has been remodeled but owned by the family for years! The views are incredible! This part of the walk reminded me a little of a scene from Anne of Green Gables. 🙂 You literally can’t see anyone while you are at the cabin as you are surrounded by pasture land, trees, and the long driveway leading to the cabin!
It was so good to get away! We watched a few movies together, read farmhouse magazines and compared ideas, talked about our future, and just set some goals for what is ahead. I took several baths, which was amazing since I can’t take baths in the travel trailer!
If you would like to see more pictures, or book a post at the cabin, go check out the listing here!
*We did not get paid or receive free nights to stay here. I receive a very small commission if you book through my links, I mainly just wanted to share a great getaway for couples that could come here!

Happy Anniversary!
For our honeymoon, Jason and I rented a cabin in Hocking Hills, Ohio. It was so peaceful! We “unplugged,” and just enjoyed being with each other. It’s so nice to get away❤️
Happy Belated 18th Anniversary!
My husband and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary yesterday! We are expecting baby #9 in 3 weeks. No rustic cabin getaway for us, but we did get to go out to dinner and do a little shopping. Happy belated anniversary!
Happy Anniversary (belated) – so pleased that you enjoyed your trip away together.
You are looking so well – and I do love you in jeans!
Thank you!
