I thought I would share pictures of my two oldest girls for Modest Monday this week, as I just loved the outfits they wore to church!

March brings birthday gifts, and Carrianna just turned 9 (same day as my birthday!). She received a lot of new clothes for her birthday, which is always such a blessing! Some of the clothes we got her were from Target, and I’m just going to put this out here to avoid comments. Everyone handles cultural issues differently. Don’t leave rude comments just because someone shops at a store that your family has chosen not to shop at. I’ve gone through seasons of boycotting Target and other stores, and seasons where I do shop there.

These girls have days where they are the best of friends, and play together so nicely. Other days they need to be separated and spend time apart, but I suppose that is a normal part of growing up with lots of sisters. πŸ™‚

My girls love fashion, and thankfully seem to be embracing modesty so far in their young lives. I hope above all things that they always keep the Lord in their hearts, and always are willing to listen to the counsel of their parents and others around them!

The smocked maxi dress is a little long on her, but I know she will keep growing this summer so I think it’s going to be ok. She turned 9, and it’s a 10/12. Maybe she can even use it next spring as well!

We gave her these new shoes for her birthday, and I think they are so cute! She is wearing LulaRoe leggings under her dress since it’s been a little chilly here.

What Carrianna Wore

Dress – Target

White Cardigan – Target

Shoes – Crazy 8

Leggings – LulaRoe

I normally don’t like the Hi-Low style dresses at all. I think you can find modest ones, it’s just personal preference for me. But this dress is so adorable, my sister and I both fell in love with it and my sister was so sweet and bought it for Olivia! My clothing budget was totally gone after buying clothes for Carrianna’s birthday this month!

She wore a white shirt under it to church today but as it gets warmer she will use a short sleeve Halftee.

This dress is long on her as well, but since Spring is just starting I’m not terribly worried. They both love long dresses and have learned to lift their long skirts up when they walk up stairs. πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoyed a look at how easy it is to dress girls in a modest, sweet and feminine way! If you start them out when they are young it really does make it easier. We are not 100% skirts and dresses with our girls. We do let them wear jeans to play in sometimes, Carrianna just ripped her favorite Gymboree skirt playing outside in it, which made us both sad! :/ Every family just needs to decide your standards and continue to talk to your daughters about those standards, and share more details as your daughters get older.

  1. Your girls are beautiful. I have a 9 year old that loves skirts. I wanted to ask how u find long shirts? You use to sell long cami’s for young girls? do you know wear I could or find some or will you be able to sell them soon? she is tall and long wasted, so when she plays her bottom always shows. I do find some shirts, but if I go a size they are loose on top. Thank you for you help.

  2. I love these. I have shopped this season at Target too for my girls because they actually have maxi dresses and some skirts! This is the season to find lots of dresses since people put them out for Easter. I noticed Childrens Place has several longer ones too. They look so cute in the pics!

  3. Thanks for hosting!

I found your comments about shopping at Target very interesting. I’m not what you would consider a modest dresser (for myself or my daughter), but in the past, I have been disappointed with Target’s selection of clothing for girls, once they age out of their preschool-age options. They just seemed kind of trashy and poor-quality. However, more recently I’ve been encourged by some of the things they’ve been carrying. The dresses your daughters are wearing in the pictures above are adorable!

  4. They are sooo adorable! I love both of their modest dresses πŸ™‚

Great job Caroline. Just recently found your blog and will definitely visit it more often.
