We had a fun weekend spent with family, and I actually had the chance to go out running (with a little bit of walking thrown in) for 2.5 miles early one morning. It was awesome! I’ve been working on getting out slowly running more, and I love the chance to clear my head, be out of the house and listen to music while I run.

I wear the modest athletic skirt that we sell and it’s SO wonderful. I can stretch, run, and even swim in this skirt and it holds up beautifully. Highly recommend it if you are athletic! You can wear this to the gym and stay modest!

LulaRoe Pink Nicole Dress. It's super bright and cheerful, and is a great knee length dress that is comfortable for everyday wear.

So..I’ve kind of joined the LulaRoe fan club. I’ve even considered becoming a consultant, but wow! Startup costs are not cheap, and we are still trying to save for a house! This is the Nicole dress, and here are my honest thoughts about it…keeping in mind that I bought this with my own money, I’m not a consultant, and have no personal interest in promoting this company for you. 🙂

First- what I love.

I love how comfortable this dress is. The fabric is so soft and snuggly. I love the cheerful print, it makes me feel happy to wear this dress all day. I really like the sleeve length.

What I’m just ok about…

If you have a mommy tummy (meaning weight that just won’t fall off in your tummy!), this dress isn’t the most flattering. If I stand up straight and tall, and wear Spanx under it (yes, I have spanx that I got from Zulily, they are a mom’s best friend), I feel ok in it. Notice I said just ok. If this crazy weight would ever go away, this dress will be awesome!

Two other things that are just ok – the neckline is low for me. I haven’t played around with a cami under it yet, but I really need to. I wish it was a few inches longer, but I’m ok with this length if I’m careful.

Curly hair with a Mini Lilla Rose Flexi Clip. They work so great for holding hair back, and are pretty!

  1. You look beautiful in the dress! The neckline doesn’t even have a hint of cleavage. Slightly lower necklines are a lot more flattering than a jewel neckline and you’ve hit the perfect balance here. Perfect length too. Wear it with confidence!

    • Thanks! I don’t mind the neckline here, but when I’m wrestling Sophia all day, it’s harder to keep the neckline up. LOL

  2. Caroline, I especially love your dress today! Beautiful color! But more than that I appreciate your ongoing ministry in this area, how you beautifully demonstrate how modesty can be so lovely. You’re a great example … one our world desperately needs! Blessings, my sister!

  3. Really like Lularoe, but have held back because just not sure how these dresses fit! I have my eye on a few Anas. How do you find the dress fits? Smaller then your normal size or bigger?

  4. Caroline, have you tried eating Paleo or Primal (less restrictive. marksdailyapple.com for info) ? I found out I have thyroid problems last fall(hypo) and started eating Primal (mostly grain and legume free. ) because my girlfriend told me it helped her hypothyroidism. I was amazed at how easily I lost weight and keep it off! I wasn’t even trying, I was doing it for other reasons. I eat a lot of vegetable carbs too.

  5. This is one of the most flattering dresses I have seen you model. The color and style look lovely on you. The neckline is fine; your necklace fits in perfectly and takes away from any “bare skin” … possibly better than a cami, which sometimes just screams for attention saying “look how low my neckline would be without this cami”. With the full skirt, the length is fine too!

  6. Please don’t try a cami under this dress – the neckline is high enough to where a cami is likely going to look a bit out of place and detract from the overall effect. This is a beautiful and flattering dress while still being wonderfully modest. Love it!

  7. Do you consider yourself high waisted? I think if the waist on this dress was a few inches higher it would be very flattering! You could raise the waist, although it would be at the expense of the overall length of the dress. It’s darling, and I like the sleeve length too!

  8. I have this striped shirt that goes over mine. This is the picture that I got from the consultant of my combination. Maybe instead of putting a cami under it, you could layer and put a striped, polka dot or solid shirt that is coordinating color over it with a knot. It helps hide my tummy and gives me more coverage at the top.
