A Cry From Egypt Book Review

I don’t do many book reviews on the blog, but I’m delighted to share with you all about this treasure. Melanie Young from Raising Real Men gave us “A Cry From Egypt” several months ago when we met at Teach Them Diligently. When I came home things got busy, and I just didn’t take the time to sit and read it.

My oldest son kept asking if he could read the book, and eventually I gave it to him since Melanie recommended it so highly. He couldn’t stop reading it and told me how wonderful it was.

Finally I sat down and had a chance to read it. Once I picked it up I couldn’t stop! This book is simply incredible, and as soon as the sequel comes out we will be purchasing it.

Written during the days of Moses as he was trying to free the Israelites out of the land of Egypt, “A Cry From Egypt” is a gripping story of a family and how they cope during the trials they have to endure. I appreciated that strong character virtues are added in the book, and traits such as courtship, respecting those in authority over us, and being patient are all portrayed in an excellent way.

I wouldn’t recommend this for a child below the age of 8 (or around there) because there are quite a few beatings that take place. Honestly, that is my only disclaimer for this book.

This book is written by Hope Auer, who is a homeschool graduate! You can hand this book to your children and inspire them with the realization that they can become a published author one day as well.

A great resource for homeschooling, or just a book to read and enjoy, this should be on every bookshelf!
