Review and Giveaway of Modest Swimsuit!

Growing up I didn’t even realize that modest swimsuits existed. We wore jean short overalls with a t-shirt underneath when we went swimming. We probably looked ridiculous to some people, but that is all we had at the time and it was more modest then a regular bathing suit!

Thankfully there are options for swimming now that are quite a bit more modest. I was delighted to be sent a modest swimsuit to review-it was even custom sewn for me based on my measurements!

Creations by Savannah is a fabulous Etsy store that primarily sells modest swimwear. Savannah has been wonderful to work with as she simply took my measurements and created me a swimsuit that fits me perfectly! I’m delighted to be reviewing her newest swimsuit-it features a nursing option for breastfeeding moms!

Front and Back Views

I *really* like this style of swimsuit. It is a two piece suit. The skirt is attached to the shorts underneath and then the top is one piece. I love the gathered sides of the swimsuit as it makes it more flattering yet not skin tight.

The nursing option is awesome! I don’t think you can even tell this is a nursing swimsuit unless you knew what to look for.

This swimsuit does not have built in undergarments, so you need to wear your own undergarments. I just wore a nursing bra so it made nursing extremely easy! If you are at the pool and need to get out to nurse you would still have to throw a towel over you as I didn’t find a way to do it without showing skin I didn’t want shown! 🙂

It was very easy to swim it. I didn’t feel weighed down by a lot of fabric.

The swimsuit is made out of excellent fabric, and the sewing is superb. Savannah’s prices are very reasonable with a suit starting at $81.00. She even offers maternity swimsuits!

Savannah has offered to giveaway a custom sewn swimsuit to one of you! You can pick a woman’s, maternity, nursing, or child’s suit! To enter, use the rafflecopter form below.

I would like that, and I also love the gathering on the sides, very flattering for a mom of many. Thanks!

  16. I love this swimsuit! We went swimming this week, and I just wore a t-shirt and shorts like I always do and it was so cumbersome. I would love something more modest and made for the pool. I’d choose the nursing suit. With a little one nursing and another one on the way, I’d put it to use!

  17. I would love to have a nursing style suit like the one you showed, but with a longer skirt! 🙂 Thank you for the giveaway!

  18. That is such a great suit! I always struggle with finding a suit I like and end up just wearing a tank top and/or shorts over the one I have just to feel comfortable. This suit would finally make that unnecessary!!

  19. Oops. I forgot to say which one I was talking about. :/ Since I am thinking about another baby, the nursing suit would be great! I really like the sport suit too!! 🙂

  20. I would love to have a nursing suit. Our girls recently had swim lessons but I had to stay on the sidelines to nurse the baby. Having a nursing suit would make it so much easier for my husband and I to take turns playing with the girls in the pool. Thanks for the chance to win!

  21. I would like a size 10-12. Hoping I can win, but if I don’t how much are they if I just want to purchase one?

  22. I would like the woman’s suit or the girl’s suit. We just moved to Arizona and I will be adding them to our swim wear. These are great.

  23. I would get the nursing swimsuit! Last summer I didn’t go swimming at all because I didn’t have a way to nurse the baby without taking my suit off.

  24. I would love to have a nursing suit! My husband and I have been looking for a modest swimsuit for me and my daughter and are saving up our money for them, but this would definitely be a blessing. Thank you for the opportunity to win.

  25. I would choose one of the maternity or nursing suits since that is the season of life I am in right now 🙂

  26. I have always worn one piece bathing suits, but this season I have been looking for a more modest swim suit…just like this one! I love it!!

  27. This is awesome! I would absolutely choose the nursing swimsuit. I have spent hours looking for one that is decent in stores and just cannot find one. This suit is perfect!

  28. I am in need of a modest maternity suit. Those triangles with strings that they sell in the store does not appeal to me in the least! LOL! Thanks for the chance to win!

  29. I don’t know the name of the swimsuit but it looks like a dress and then has the shorts underneath. I also really like the sports style suit.

  30. I would LOVE to win one of your beautiful, modest swimsuits. I would choose the womens’ version with the cap sleeves. Adorable!

  31. Love it all either an adult swimsuit or even a little girls one for my Lilli, loved it all:-) Awesome!

  32. I have been searching for something to turn my 2 piece maternity suit into something more modest and had to settle on a pair of men’s swim trunks! All the women’s shorts barely cover anything! The maternity top I have is okay and works to nurse in, but it is pretty low-cut so I’m not that comfortable wearing it certain places. This suit is a dream come true! Everything I have been looking for in a swim suit!

  33. I just love this one you have on! I have been researching modest swimwear and I think this is my favorite “look”. I especially like the nursing option (number 3 is due soon).

  34. What a great suit ~ it suits you as well!! I would choose the modest women’s swimsuit with the little sleeves as I am prone to sunburn on my shoulders. Lovely site & I’m also interested in the girls one for my daughter.

  35. I would choose the womens sleeveless suit, either with the empire waist or the lower waist. Really like a couple of the fabrics like the pretty blue palm leaves and then black or midnight navy skirt and shorts.
I would also like one for my little 5 yr old granddaughter… she would love it!

  36. great suits, would probably pick one similar to your, with the nursing option since it seems I am often nursing! I also LOVE the little girls ones, would be very tempted to get one for my 3 yr old! I usually make her wear a sundress over her suit 😉 Hers are very cute! And I love the baby one too

  37. I love these modest swimsuits, and would love to have 2!! I need a nursing one, but I also love the one with the skirt attached to the bodice, in the black swirls fabric.=)

  38. I like the ‘sports style’ modest swimsuit. They all look great though.

My girls and I wear board shorts and swim-shirts over the one-piece or bikini, which is modest but a bit bulky. (And makes for a huge, heavy bag of wet stuff to carry home afterward a day at the beach!)

  39. I would LOVE a nursing suit! They are beautiful.

My facebook email is Josiebird24 at hotmail dot com, but James.and.andrea at gmail dot com is where I get my regular email.

  40. I would love a modest swimsuit!! I have not worn a swimsuit since I was a kid because they are just way to reveling. I like the design that has short sleeves on it!

  41. Oh – I just love this! I’m a middle aged mom of grown children – and a grandmom and have always hated summer season with swimsuit weather! I have never felt comfortable in high cut suit and have NEVER worn a two piece. This style actually harks back to the woolen styles worn at the turn of the century 100 years ago – only the fabric is sensible swimsuit fabric – but the style is feminine and modest – wonderful! Oh! I hope I win! Hope you have a moment to visit me at my main blog – The Writer’s Reverie – and I’ll also put your button on my other blog as director of Constellation Academy Home School Resources Network – http://www.constellationacademyhsrn.blogspot.com

    Joy!
    Kathy

  42. This is perfect timing. My sons have been wondering when I will get a swim suit so that that I can join them in the pool. I would love the Womens Modest Swimsuit size 10-12.
Thanks for the chance to get my hands on this.

  43. I would pick the women’s sleeveless suit in tropical burst fabric with either cranberry or black bottoms! Nice suits.

  44. I love the nursing swimsuit and how modest it is! It’s refreshing to see a suit that covers so much and looks stylish. Thanks so much for the giveaway. Here’s hoping I win as I have a 3-1/2-month-old I’m exclusively breastfeeding and hate nursing in my regular swimsuit as it’s very, very immodest even with a towel.

  45. Oops! Forgot! I would like the Women’s Modest Swimsuit Size 10-12! Except I really like the one that Caroline is wearing!

  46. The women’s modest swimsuit looks perfect. I’d probably pay a little extra to have it made a couple of inches longer.

  47. Oh my goodness. I love these. I would definitely pick the nursing suit, purple vines fabric. This would be perfect for all the beach days we have planned for this summer.

  48. I hate to be the negative one as I appreciate the intention, but I would be quite uncomfortable wearing one of the swimsuits in this review as they are very form-fitting and expose part of the thigh (which is nakedness according to the Bible – Exodus 28:42; Isaiah 47:2). As Mum-me said above, my family and I also wear board shorts and a swim shirt. My shorts are loose and come to my knee (covering the thigh), and I buy my swim shirts in a bigger size so they are loose-fitting. To be honest, I’m rather curious as to why other ladies who are committed to modesty wouldn’t just do the same as swim shorts and shirts are readily available in stores and cheaper too! The point of clothing (irrespective of the activity, ie. swimming) is to cover and hide our nakedness (Genesis 3:7, 10, 21). Unfortunately, though these swimsuits do cover and hide more than a regular swimsuit, they still don’t cover and hide enough by Biblical standards =(

    1. Not everyone has the same views. I no longer live under the OT laws. Bathing suits are form fitting so as to not be too bulky while swimming. I personally don’t like having a ridiculous amount of clothing on while swimming but love this bathing suit.

  49. No idea which suit I would pick. . . liking yours, but haven’t taken time to look them all over yet. Did add her shop to my etsy favorites, though!

  50. I like the sports version. I have a full busted special needs 17yr daughter that does not understand the concept of modesty AT ALL (guess she fits perfect in the world hu?) I have such a huge issue finding her a swimsuit, as this is her favorite activity & we do LOTS of it! I think at last I found it – so hoping she wins – Thanks for the opportunity!

  51. These suits look so nice. I’m not sure if I would get a women’s suit for myself (I haven’t bought a new suit in 17 years!) or if I would get a girl’s one for one of my girls.

  52. I would pick the maternitt suit. I’m suffering away in this heat in shorts, a bikini top, and overshirt. I love how they look!

  53. I’ve looked at modest swimsuits for at least a year. Some are cuter than others and this is definitely cute! I love the side ties.

  54. This is one of the best I’ve seen. So pretty and modest, yet modern (for lack of a better word). I’d love this for me & my girls.

  55. http://www.etsy.com/listing/76431266/modest-maternity-swimsuit-empire-style

I like that one b/c it is maternity, and I am praying to be pregnant for about ten more years at least 😀 So it might come in handy! I would pay extra though to make the skirt longer..to cover more of the shorts. I wouldn’t be comfortable wearing the spandex shorts like you had on…nothing personal just after changing to skirts that are to be knee length or below that’s a bit much for me. I really like the nice modest top though! That is EXTREMELY HARD to find in regular stores!

  56. I’ve been wanting one of her swimsuits for a long time now–what a wonderful giveaway!
I would choose the modest women’s suit.

    Thank you!

    Leah

  57. Hi Caroline! Thanks for this giveaway!
I would choose the women’s modest suit, size 12 (fabric style #2), but with both a longer skirt and (black) below-the-knee leggings. 🙂

  58. What a beautiful suit! I’d love to win one- I live in a hot humid climate now, and I’m moving to a hot dry climate in the fall! I would go ahead and get the nursing one- I agree that you can’t even tell, so it would be better to be prepared! (DD is in her final days of nursing, down to just before nap and bed- never in public, but she’s not ready to quit yet!)

  59. I really like the style you are wearing in this review. I wonder if she makes it in non-nursing. The purple swirly print fabric is nice.

  60. I would love the nursing suit. I like the one they have in the website but I like the lower cut in the one she made for you. Thank you for the giveaway

  61. Love this bathing suit! Most modest bathing suits are not me. And I’d never wear them. For now I blend in and wear a tankini. Which minus the spandex shorts there isn’t a difference!

  62. What a beautiful suit! I have been looking for a modest suit for a while, but I haven’t found one yet that I liked so much as this one! Until now I have been wearing a sundress over my suit, but I would love to change over to something more comfortable.

  63. The rafflecopter app doesn’t appear to be working. Is the giveaway still open?
In any case, I am desperately searching for a decent maternity suit!

  64. How beautiful! I would love to take my children swimming more often and having a modest swimsuit would make it more enjoyable, since I feel so uncomfortable in regular bathing suits!

  65. Cute swimsuit. However, as someone who was on a pool committee at a private Christian pool for several years, I have to comment on the undergarment concept. Or even the overalls with t-shirts. Cotton garments should not be worn in swimming pools because they shed fibers that are hard on the pool filter. And undergarments that have been worn all day should not be worn into a pool because they will have fecal material on them that requires the pool to have higher levels of chlorine added. Technically speaking, all swimmers should take a quick shower before getting into a pool to help reduce the amount of chlorine needed to keep a pool clean, but very few pools enforce that rule.
