I’ve been excited that May is here! We won’t be done with school in May, but should be done the middle of June and then we will take a break until probably the first of August. I’m very ready to put the school books away for awhile but we are pressing on! Traveling to conventions always throws us off track for awhile, but I love the business skills they learn while at conventions, and also the social skills of talking with customers!

I did a first for me this weekend – I attended a vendor show with Lilla Rose! A friend helped organize an amazing event with 100 booths, and I wanted to go and help support her event she organized. It was a lot of fun to be there and to meet new people, but it was an extremely long day. Sean kept popping in during the day with the children, and he finally came at 5:00 so I could go out to the van for 20 minutes and lay down. The event went until 7:00 at night, and I was there at 7:30 in the morning!

When it was all done and we were packed up and heading home, I told the children how extremely blessed I am to be able to work online. It was a good reminder why I had set the rule to never do a vendor event, and why I probably won’t ever do another one again, unless it’s a much shorter event. I hated being gone from the children all day long! If you are strictly a homemaker during the week and you do an event on the weekend, I get that. But to work during the week from home and be gone all day on Saturday is just over the top for me! It’s also the reason why I made the decision to stop selling LulaRoe. It took WAY more time than Sean and I thought it would. Family first, business second is the rule I really try to live by, though I’m not perfect!

I’ve been so happy to discover this fun dress for summer! I love that Sean really likes it on me, and he even bought the sandals I’m wearing with the dress for me! It’s lightweight for summer and soft.

We have just a few sizes in stock at Deborah & Co. (yes, it’s available there!) but we will be getting more in soon, so check back if we sell out right away!

I’m wearing a size Large in this dress, and it’s the largest size this dress comes in.

Here is the same dress worn with just a necklace on a different day! We were at the park here. 🙂

Lightweight scarves are nice for summer time when you want to add an extra touch to an outfit.

At the vendor event I attended I found these leather earrings. I have been wanting to get a pair of leather earrings for a long time and loved these floral ones!

Sean picked these sandals out for me from Marshals and I’ve enjoyed wearing them!

  1. We have had to make similar decisions about things that take too much time from the family… it is a cost we aren’t willing to pay without a LOT of serious consideration…. and usually say no to such things. Thank you for the party.

  2. The dress is very pretty … and flattering! I have done some events like that myself. I know they can be fun and profitable for some people, but they can also be exhausting! Thanks for hosting and have a great week.

  3. I completely understand that “this is the last time” feeling! I’ve had a few commitments I needed to scale back over the last few years since I have little ones. It’s always a balancing act, isn’t it? Love this dress!

    • Thank you! I’m not perfect with it, but it’s something I work hard at. 🙂 How fun that you have a similar dress!

    • I’m in the process of stopping right now. 🙂 This was kind of my way to announce it on the blog. 😉

  4. What a love dress on you! I have to say I almost always love the dresses that you wear. I don’t know a lot of dresses myself because I do wear jeans a lot. However, I really like to dress for church/different events. I think I need to buy more dresses. 🙂
