Modest Monday and a Link Up!
Whew! What an exciting and exhausting week! Thursday night we attended the Royals game (yes, we live in KC and my boys love baseball! I am learning more about it now that my boys are into it). Just Sean and I went with the two boys (and of course Sophia), and while I was nervous to bring a baby to a long baseball game way past her bedtime, she did great! I brought along my nursing cover and just fed her whenever she wanted to snuggle. 🙂
The boys had me wear one of their baseball caps. 🙂
Friday night we had a birthday party for my sister and dad. My sister loves the show Shark Tank, so Sean made up a Shark Tank game for us all to play. He put random things in bags and created names of items we were pitching to the judges. We even downloaded the Shark Tank music to make it seem more real. It was so funny to see what people came up with!
My boys have been in a baseball league with boys from our church. Saturday was their final day and all the families came to watch, and have a meal together afterwards. This is the outfit I wore to the game.
The camera didn’t pick up the stripes very well, it’s just a blue and white striped maxi skirt. I recently went shopping at Cato’s and found this shirt there. The hat is from ThredUP.
I always feel like Pippy Longstocking when I wear my hair in two braids, but sometimes it’s nice to wear it like this when I’m going to be outside for the day.
Have you ever purchased from ThredUP before? Right now if you are a brand new customer you can sign up through this link and receive a $20 credit to the store, which means you could get something totally free! With back to school shopping (as a homeschooler I just start shopping for fall and winter clothes!), you can get something for your children, or grab a new shirt or skirt for yourself! I’ve rarely been disappointed in anything I order from ThredUP! They have everything from baby clothes to Junior size clothing, women’s XS-Plus size!
What I Wore
Skirt – Maxi skirt from ThredUP
Shirt – Cato
Hat – ThredUP
Sandals – ThredUP

I didn’t realize y’all were KC locals! My husband and I love living in KC (although we’re up in the Northland) and actually went to the Royals game on Thursday night too. So fun! 🙂
Oh that is fun! I’ve lived in KC all my life. 🙂
I’ve been reading your blog for a while now. We live in central KS! We were at the game on Friday night! Didn’t realize you were my “neighbor”! I enjoy your blog. I was raised in a rocky situation, but God totally changed my life! I traded short shorts and tank tops for modest clothing 15 years ago and married into a Mennonite family. I’ve been so blessed by my community and family and the way they’ve taught me to live out the scripture in everyday life! Life is a journey and we aim to please God, love our neighbor and train our children for God 1 day at a time! If you’re looking for a good homeschool fieldtrip come this weekend to Yoder Days. It’s a festival put on by the local Amish and Mennonites. They have a parade with tons of god candy and even do buggy races! And you won’t be the only ones in modest clothes! 😉
Good candy! Not “god” candy! Lol!
That sounds like fun!!

Melanie,
My sister and brother in law have a totally different personality than I do, and they have asked that I post very little pictures of them on my blog. Out of respect to them I’ve tried to not post hardly any pictures. I’ll ask my sister if I can give an updated picture at some point! 🙂 The boys are getting bigger! She is homeschooling them this year and they are in Kindergarten.
Cute outfits! Thanks for hosting & God bless!
