Clean Sweep: Pick your own project!
Cleaning our homes should bring delight to our home. You might be married to someone who does not care about messes. I’m married to someone who is absolutely thrilled when he walks in the door and the house is clean. He cannot rest well when there are messes everywhere. In order for him to delight in being home I am trying to work harder on having the house organized and clean. When he came home yesterday the main part of the house was clean and I had been organizing some areas. I know that blesses him even if he doesn’t say much.
Likewise, our family will experience the joy of a content and happy mama if we work on our spiritual challenges. We will fall and stumble many times, but it is better to actively be working on a goal then to sit back and throw up our hands in despair.
Keep striving for better things. Don’t give up in discouragement.
Physical Challenge
Today you get to pick your own assignment! Don’t pick a huge project, tackle one small area that needs organized. Set the timer for 15 minutes and work as hard as you can. It might be a bookcase, a toy area, Â or a cabinet in the kitchen. These little jobs pile up quickly, but if we do one thing at a time it’s not as overwhelming as tackling all of them at once.
Spiritual Challenge
We are going to be spending some time this week creating some chore charts and basic schedule. In order for those to work we must have discipline in our own lives. Today’s challenge is to read this excellent article by Terri Maxwell called “From Lazy to Self-Discplined” and ponder and pray on the scriptures and thoughts she shares.
