My Favorite Fall Picture {New 31 Day Series!}

Today is the very first day of our new fall series! Love Fall: A 31 Day Series On The Pleasures Of Fall. I’m excited to jump in and get started on the series. You can read more information about it and grab a button to put on your blog if you wish on the landing page.

Today I’m going to share with you a little corner of my dining room that I have decorated for fall.

I’m by no means an interior decorator. I used to spend hours decorating my room when I was a teenager, but I just don’t have the time to do that now! Plus with five children I’m limited in how I decorate. I don’t stop decorating just because I have children, but I keep it more simple.

A little Corner of Fall

Here is our small bookcase that we keep school books on in our dining room. My favorite fall pictures is in the frame. It is a beautiful watercolor painting by the ever so talented Breezy Brookshire. The picture is called “Gathering Autumn Joys” and the girl in the picture just makes me smile.

Here is the picture up close. We now have 3 of Breezy’s art prints hanging up in our house, and I love the calm and sweet spirit that accompanies these prints. Our children make comments on the pictures and seem to love having them around the house.

School Bookcase

You can laugh if you want. 🙂 This is my attempt to cover the messy school books for a change in the dining room. I’m still not getting out lots of places with my foot, so I haven’t been someplace to actually get a tension rod to put this on properly. So for now I just draped it over the bookshelf. You interior designers can shudder, but it works for me. 🙂

***In a different note, the new October Flexi Clip has just been released! I adore this one, and actually ordered three for the girls and I! It has an antique look to it which I love. This clip will sell out fast! Only available during the month of October, while the inventory is in stock.

  1. What a great idea for a series 🙂 Cant wait to see what’s in store the for the next 30 days! I just LOVE fall and everything about it. Getting out my fall decorations is on my ‘to do’ list for this next weekend. Hope your first day of October is wonderful!

  2. It’s beautiful! I love art that makes you smile. It seems comforting. The homeschooler in me started wishing that I had decorated like this when my daughter was younger. I can imagine the stories that we could have made up about the girl. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing! ~ Stephanie

  3. Love it! That print from Breezy has been on my wish list for a while 🙂 I’d love to have some of her prints especially for the room my four little girls share 😉

    My friend was just asking me the other day if I had my ‘fall stuff’ out yet… I laughed b/c we just moved into this house 4 months ago, and most rooms don’t even have drapes or pictures hanging yet… it certainly doesn’t feel ready to decorate seasonally 😉 But I like that you’re doing just a touch in that corner – that feels like something I might could do.

  4. I like your fall fabric cover. I’ve covered many things with fabric like that. Sometimes I use a small safety pin on each side to help keep the top looking square.

  5. Ah, 31 posts on my favorite season! Already looking forward to tomorrow’s installment.

    I love the picture, and the way you have it displayed. (Who needs a tension rod?)
