If your children are anything like mine, they love to craft. Give them paper, glue, crayons, and some stickers and they can be happy for an hour creating cards and coloring pictures. They haven’t made Valentines Day cards before, but I think this year would be a lovely time to start. Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, or friends would love to get a handmade Valentine in the mail!

Here are some ideas I’ve compiled that are perfect for children!

VDay Handprint

Make a Valentine using your handprint! You can add a heart sticker to your palm to create a cute effect in the hand.

Make a paper airplane Valentine! My boys love making paper airplanes, so they will especially love this idea! Plus they have to write a letter on the airplane so it can count for handwriting credit. 😉

Footprint Heart with poem

If you are brave enough to pull out the paint and use on your children’s feet, this is a cute idea!

Heart Valentine

For a slightly older child, they can make yarn heart cards!

This vintage valentine image can be printed off and used to create some adorable Valentines Day cards.

Have fun crafting!

  1. Cute ideas! My girls love to do crafts. I’m waiting to hear if my 7yr old will be able to take Valentines into her classmates or not. I think it would be fun for her to hand craft them.
