It’s been a long and busy week. I came down with a sinus infection/head cold type illness on Tuesday and I’m still trying to get all the way over it. I spent two days in bed, and have been putting all sorts of essential oils on to help me get over it, which is helping.

Modest Monday and A Link up!

We have a fun little game we play every time we go outside to take pictures for Modest Monday. It’s called “let’s avoid the neighbors sitting in their yard across the street, because all they do is sit and stare and I don’t want to take pictures then.” It makes it quite interesting. πŸ™‚ With a small city yard we get creative about where we take pictures at. It never fails that these people (a huge crowd) are out in their yard when we go outside to do these pictures. πŸ™‚

Shoes

I love my summery white sandals.

Earrings

Princess Tiara Earrings that Lilla Rose used to sell.

Backofhair

Earlier this week I treated my hair to a Beautiful Hair Treatment from The Bulk Herb Store. I used lemon juice to bring out lighter highlights, and used coconut oil instead of olive oil, and used eggs. Wow, the next day it was amazing the difference! Even my mother-in-law commented on it when she saw me, and she had no clue I had just applied the Beautiful Hair MessΒ Treatment. πŸ™‚ My family always love to tease me when I put it on, it is a slimy, green mess. But it really works and I love how it thickened up my hair and made it healthier looking for summer!

  1. I just LOVE that striped dress! it’s adorable… love, love the way you styled it! thanks for sharing!!
do you think sometime, you could share some posts from stylish, modest, skirt/dress wearing, women in their 40’s… I find that I have to be very careful in how I style my skirt outfits (I’m trying to transition to skirts for 90% of my normal wear), because I can end of looking “dowdy”…
thanks so much! I look forward to these posts every Monday!

    • Leanne,

I will try to do that! I have someone in mind that I would like to ask, but she is out of town for the summer. πŸ™‚

  2. I’ve never seen anyone recovering from a sinus infection look so cute! Your hair looks beautiful as well; the slimy green mess does a great job. And you had me laughing about the neighbors and your photo shoots. Thanks for a much-needed, lighthearted post!

  3. I hope you’re feeling better! It’s hard when you face feels like it’s going to break!

I love the color or your dress. You look so pretty in it. I totally understand about the neighbors. Ours are always out in spring and summertime too! Thanks for hosting today.

  4. You look so lovely!

I’ve wanted to ask this for a long time…how do you stay so thin? I’m not overweight but I’m not as small as I used to be. I’m curious what you do to maintain your weight through pregnancies, etc. also, is keeping your weight lower a goal or does it come more naturally for you? I feel tossed to and fro about how much time and energy I should spend trying to be thin when I’m not unhealthy as is. :-/

    • Thank you! Honestly, I just have been blessed with good metabolism. We do try to eat healthy, but I’m not on a strict diet or anything. And sometimes I get good workouts in, other times not at all. I have been working on my mummy tummy using http://fit2b.us to strengthen my tummy after having had five children! You can use code: modestmom to get 3 months for just 2 months price.

  5. How funny that someone else asked what I was going to ask! I was wondering about how you stay thin too? I am overweight and cant seem to lose more than 10 lbs. I am very frustrated and wondered if you had any suggestions?
