Mother’s Day was just wonderful! The weather had threatened to be chilly and it was just perfect for a picnic. My children blessed me with a sweet gift they had put together. They decorated a box and each of them (with my husband’s help) wrote a note promising to do a certain job for me this week. They are going to keep this box and make it a mailbox and put little notes in it for me. So sweet! I just loved it. Mother’s Day just gets better and better as my children get older and actually understand the reasonings behind these holidays. πŸ™‚

Mother's Day Gift

My husband totally surprised me with a new camera, so I was pretty exited about that. We have some projects planned for the blog and business and needed to upgrade in order to do those projects. I wasn’t planning on it happening anytime soon though, so this was a big surprise.

My baby is 16 months old, and has pretty much stopped nursing. *sniff* So I finally am able to wear a dress again! πŸ™‚

Lilla Rose Cameo

Β The lovely Cameo Flexi Clip from Lilla Rose. My bangs finally grew out long enough to pull back the sides in a mini clip. Two other ladies showed up at church wearing this exact same clip in different sizes. We got a good laugh out of that!

Modesty Tip

I just purchased this dress and it was my first time to wear it today. We were getting ready for church when my husband told me that he could see my bra straps on the back of the dress through the white sweater. My mind started spinning with solutions of how to fix it so I could still wear the dress and make it modest. πŸ™‚ I put on a tank top I had from Old Navy that was lower cut, it was navy blue so it blended in nicely, and covered up my bra straps. I know that some ladies have no problem letting their straps show, but I think it is best to cover them at all times. πŸ™‚ Bra straps can be a visual allurement to men.

Most of my outfit came from one store! I recently went on a shopping trip with my sister and spent Birthday money on clothes. It was fun. πŸ™‚

  1. What a precious gift from your children!

I often wear tank tops under things that are too low or too sheer as well. I like that they’re lightweight, thick straps and fairly long.

Thanks so much for hosting today!

  2. Thank you so much for hosting the linkup today!!

I just loved your dress….I wish you sold it πŸ˜‰ as I don’t live near you and so no one would know you had the same dress, lol. It isn’t often (like never) that I find a dress I would like. I live in skirts and haven’t had a dress or jumper in quite a few years.

Your children’s gift was precious. That will give you a good memory some day.

  3. I can’t stand it when my straps show and I get so embarrassed when I find them showing. When in public, if I notice it, I’ll wrap my shirt around and tuck it. Or, I might pull my straps over a bit. Then I try to remember not to wear it again without something else underneath. I often find myself reaching over to cover my daughters straps. She gets mad, but she doesn’t want them showing either.

  4. You look beautiful as always, Caroline! What a precious family you have. Layering with tanks is something I do often, wish I could teach it to several yooung ladies out there! πŸ˜‰
    Thanks for the link up!

  5. What a sweet and thoughtful Mother’s Day gift. You look absolutely lovely, as always. I especially love the little, feminine sweater.

I started wearing tanks and camis under most of my tops awhile ago, just because I feel more comfortable and secure that way, especially if I need to bend over. And, I just don’t like to see bra straps in public, on myself or anybody else. πŸ™‚

  6. That dress is so cute! You are such an inspiration that modest can be beautiful and fashionable, not dumpy and frumpy.

  7. Modesty is truly the way to be. I have enjoyed your blog for all of the tips received to become a more modest female. It is so nice to see there are others out there whom care about the little things such as these. I am glad you enjoyed your Mother’s Day, every mother should!

  8. What a blessed Mother’s Day. I love the box with notes idea. I may have to borrow that for my own sweet kiddos, it would be fun =)

  9. Love your outfit (and how helpful of your husband to let you know about the bra straps!).

Your kids are so sweet!!! What an awesome gift idea πŸ™‚ The picture with your youngest is so adorable, love the little dress on her!

    God bless!
