Modest Monday and a Link Up!

It’s officially cold weather here in Missouri, so I’ve been trying to find all our boxes of winter clothes! I needed a new long sleeve blue top, so I was thankful to find a brand new  shirt on ThredUP in my favorite brand.

The skirt is a Lularoe maxi that I’ve had for a few years now. I’m sure long time blog readers remember seeing it.

I love this long necklace, it was a clearance find on JCPenny last year. It’s so versatile I can wear it with almost anything!

I’m wearing a pink flexi clip to try and draw out the pink in my skirt. 🙂

What I Wore

Skirt – LulaRoe

Shirt – St. John’s Bay Shirt

Vest – St. John’s Bay Quilted Vest

Necklace – JCPenny

Flexi Clip – Medium Clip from Lilla Rose

Headband – Lilla Rose

Modest Monday and a Link Up!

At church today fall was officially in. So many chocolate brown colors, and then there was my outfit. Ha!
Blue polka dot maxi skirt

What to do for those ladies who like brighter colors and they don’t prefer browns and blacks all the time? I’m slowly starting to accept that I don’t have to wear dark colors for fall and winter. I still like to dabble in them, I have one black skirt I kept and I might put a bright shirt with it. Otherwise I prefer brighter colors, and lots of blue. 🙂

It’s really ok to figure out what colors you prefer and stick with it, even during the colder months. If you love black and brown then this season is perfect for you!

I used the Peacock Flexi Clip, which is a popular clip that Lilla Rose sells! Did you know that World Market sells peacock necklaces that are super similar to this? I think it’s neat how they could coordinate together!

Don’t forget, the monthly special at Lilla Rose ends in 1 day! Spend $80 and get a free hairband of your choice, which is a $24 value! You could get the peacock flexi clip and the coordinating  Colors on Parade hairband!

What I Wore

Skirt – Marshalls

Shirt – JCPenny (St. John’s Bay shirts which I love!)

Flexi Clip – Colors on Parade Clip

Shoes – Zulily

(now is the time to join this daily deals website to find great Christmas gifts!)

Makeup – Younique (I was in a hurry and only put on a little bit. I prefer a natural look most days with makeup)

Modest Monday and a Link Up!

I didn’t blog much this week or take any pictures for the weekly link up. But I have super good reasons why.

My sister and brother in law adopted a brand new baby girl this week!!!!!

After years and years of waiting to adopt a newborn, they were blessed to be matched a few months ago, and my sister was able to be at the birth of this precious little girl and stay with her at the hospital. It was such an emotional bittersweet weekend. I’ve learned adoption is never easy. I have a new perspective and a huge respect for birth parents who give up their children so they can have a better life.

Back in 2012 I had an adoption fundraiser party online for them, right here on this blog. For those of you who still read this blog, they have had that money just sitting in their savings account, waiting for this day! So thank you for giving so generously.

The little girl they adopted is absolutely beautiful. I’m not sure I’ve seen a more perfect newborn baby! God is SO good!!

We have been able to go see them several times, and I’ve been on the phone with my sister a lot. 🙂 It’s an exciting time for our whole family, and I have to get in line with all my children just to hold this little girl! 🙂

In other news…..the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle Flash Sale is here for 48 hours only!! Wahoo!

This is my absolutely favorite bundle of the year, and the only one that I throw myself into sharing about. Why? Because it’s always so, so good. And helpful. And encouraging. And…the list could go on. 🙂

Not sure what the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle is? You can check out why I’m raving about it here.

This exact bundle goes away after Tuesday and you will never see this bundle again! Every year it’s always different products included, so grab it while you can! And did I mention that our Well Ordered Kitchen Basic version is available in this Bundle?

Don’t forget about the awesome special that I offered earlier this year! I’ll do it again for the 48 flash sale, and it’s a pretty sweet deal.

Purchase the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle on this blog and then fill out this google form to claim your bonus!  If you decide to get the free Flexi Clip, you do pay $3.00 to cover shipping costs.

And now for the link up!

Modest Monday and a Link Up!

It’s another floral maxi dress! I’m seriously in love with floral this year!

Blue Floral Maxi Dress from Deborah & Co.

Blue Floral maxi Dress from Deborah & Co.

I just added this dress (in very limited quantities) to our Deborah & Co. store and I loved wearing it to church yesterday. It has side pockets and the fabric is so very, very comfortable! It feels like you are wearing pajamas (no, this isn’t LulaRoe!).

I also ordered new boots from Amazon and wore them for the first time. I really liked how comfortable they were for being a higher heel, and for taking a chance and ordering online. I ordered the Khaki color, but they have a large selection of colors available!

I’ve been having fun wearing makeup again lately. During our huge house remodel I pretty much gave up wearing much makeup or jewelry, life was in survival mode. I really missed wearing makeup most of all so it’s high on my list to do when I can. I’m back to wearing almost all Younique makeup as it seems to work the best for me.

You can see the makeup I wore in the picture above. If you are looking for a good natural looking lip color the Affluent color is what I’m wearing. It’s a very mild color. The concealer is a favorite of mine, I’ve used several different concealers and it works by far the best out of any I’ve tried. Yes, the lid is missing. Somehow a child took it off and I can’t find it. Motherhood…:)

Almost all the makeup is Younique except the mascara.  I had the chance to try a new mascara from Lancome and I love it!

What I Wore

Dress – Blue Floral Maxi Dress from Deborah & Co.

Cami – Halftee from Deborah & Co.

Boots – Amazon

Makeup – Younique

Flexi Clip – X-Small clip from my Lilla Rose website
