When I look back on my homeschooling experience certain things stand out to me. A big one is the faith I developed as I read through stories of great missionaries. I wanted the faith to endure trials like these men and women, and when I read about how unselfish they were I knew I had a lot to learn.

Years later I still feel the same way. I’m humbled by the devotion of these missionaries and continually inspired.

As we wrap up this school year and I already start planning the next school year, one thing I already told Sean that was high on my list was having my oldest three children read biographies of missionaries next year.

I was delighted to see that a resource I already knew I wanted to use was included in the Build Your Bundle sale this week! You only have until Monday left to get it though, and then the amazing homeschool bundle sale goes away!

To Every Nation is a study of 12 missionaries and their great God, put together by Kim Sorgius from Not Consumed. You can buy the digital copy on her website for $25.00, but you can get a complete Character Bundle that includes this book for $29.00 until Monday, and it includes $223 worth of items in it!

This book uses 12 of the Christian Heroes, Then & Now books. My children LOVE these books!! They make excellent books to read aloud as a family, or to have your children read on their own.

You study the lives of:

Hudson Taylor

Gladys Alward

Eric Liddell

Corrie Ten Boom

George Mueller

Nate Saint

Elisabeth Elliot

David Livingstone

Mary Slessor

Amy Carmichael

William Carey

Adoniram Judson

How To Use This Study Guide:

You can use this guide as  bible Study or a homeschool study. My 9th grader next year will be studying geography and this seems like the perfect addition to his geography studies. I can also see my 5th grader using this as well, so it really works for lots of different ages. The answers should just vary depending on the grade using it.

There are two pages of overview that you read about the person. Then you answer basic information about the person (where they lived, what time period, etc) and some light map work and info about the country today is done.

As you read through the book or the bio included in the study good, you fill in the Timeline.

Then there is a page with a character quality behind this person, and you fill it why you think this person showed endurance, or virtue…whatever character quality was picked for this person.

There are two pages of copywork provided, one from the ESV version and one from the KJV.

Then you move on to the next person!

I like that it isn’t crazy intense, but it makes the child really stop and think more about the missionary, about the country they served, and what they can learn from this person.

There are two different ways you can get this study guide in the Build Your Bundle!

The easy way is just to grab the Character Bundle that includes it. You can get one bundle by itself, or take advantage of the buy 2, get the 3rd Bundle free deal!

The other way is to Build Your Own Bundle! You can put together several different bundles based on the price of the items, but it allows you to pick only what you really want.

The sale ends Monday night, so don’t miss out!

  1. Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved those Janet and Geoff Benge biographies! My mom got us several of them to read when we homeschooled, and now that I teach at a Christian school, my junior high students love them just as much! The books are so well-written! I have even gotten students who professed to hate reading hooked on those books!
