Modest Monday and a Linkup!

I love bright, cheerful blue colors. You might think I’m crazy because for years I’ve been against decorating with blue in my house. Overall I’m still like that, but I’ve discovered (thanks to the Dressing Your Truth program!) that I love a good cheerful blue!

LulaRoe maxi skirt with a blue shirt and mustard cardigan.

It’s hard to pick up in this photo, but there is quite a bit of blue in the maxi skirt.

Brown ankle boots from Zulily

These brown ankle boots are from Zulily, but you can also find some similar ones on Amazon here. When the weather gets colder I’ll wear leggings under the skirt to stay warm.

Pearl headband with hair tuck and flexi clip

I watched a new video from a different Lilla Rose consultant on how to do this headband Gibson Tuck. I love it! You can watch the video below to learn how to do this! I had to use a flexi clip to secure it, as I have slippery hair.

It’s still not perfect but I’m working on it.

  1. Loving the brighter look on you, it does really seem to be your “truth”! I also love the hair – mine is a fair bit shorter but I’m going to see if I can get it to work – it’s such a lovely and feminine style.

  2. I like this idea for choosing your colours! The Blue looks great on you and I love how your hair is styled. Thank you for hosting x

  3. Your hair looks so pretty!

  4. That hairstyle is so pretty! I totally want to try that! I have a similar headband, but I’m so clumsy when it comes to doing my own hair, lol!

Thanks for hosting the link up:)

  5. Love the hair. I’m always too lazy to do anything with mine.

On the blog today, I’m tackling something literally “borrowed from the boys”, i.e., an item of clothing I took from my husband’s wardrobe. Come on over and see how I (and four other women of all ages) styled pieces we, ahem, borrowed from the men in our lives.

  6. Such a cute hairstyle! I can’t wear hairbands at all, so I need to use a lot of pins to keep my tucks in place!

  7. Love your adorable Type 1 look! You look amazing!

I’ve been dressing my truth (type 2) for about 4 years, and I love the confidence it gives me to know that I am looking my best.

  8. Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for being so consistent in your blog postings! There are a lot of great, encouraging blogs by Christian woman, but many have a posting schedule that is a bit sporadic. I know I can always rely on yours for a fresh post! I haven’t been following your blog long, but it’s already been such a blessing to me. Thank you for your efforts to encourage women like me towards biblical righteousness and purity.

  9. I adore the blue and yellow on you. Really lovely.

I’m wearing a Lilla Rose headband right now 🙂 I want to try that style. It looks really nice (and easy, which I need when it comes to hair!).

  10. Caroline, that sounds like a very interesting course. I’ve definitely bought plenty of things that I liked when I saw them, but they hung in my closet, often never being worn because every time I put them on they just didn’t look right.

I do like the blue. I like bright colors, too, but often don’t wear them as much as I surround myself with them. I probably wear too much black, too.

Thanks for hosting. Have a great Thanksgiving!
