Modest Monday and a Link Up!

These have got to be the most glamorous Modest Monday pictures I’ve taken yet! *Ahem* I might be a little sarcastic in that statement. I actually took these pictures at a motel we stopped at. It wasn’t the one we wanted, but the others in the town were booked. It was smelly, and Sean woke up itchy and had bites on him. Yuck! No more Super 8 hotels for us!

These are not Pinterest worthy photos at all, they are just quick pictures we took on my phone. It gives you an idea of what I travel in though! Soft maxi skirts that I can move around in easily in the car are my favorites. Sandals are a must, so I can take my shoes off unless we get out of the car! I washed my hair before we left, so it still wasn’t totally dry here.

I used a mini clip to pull it back, which worked out great for traveling in the van. I wasn’t going to curl my hair at all, we just wanted to get on the road!

Here is another picture of a casual outfit I wore for a family walk one evening last week! Our 6 year old daughter loves to save up her Character Badge Coins and turns them in the reward chart for a bike ride with Dad. We can’t take good bike rides here, so we have to load up and go to a local bike trail. It’s great for walking, so I normally go along and push the little ones in these stroller. My Ked shoes are comfortable for walking in!

Choose Joy T-Shirt

I wore my Choose Joy shirt from Cents of Style, which is a favorite of mine. Ever time I wear it people make a comment on how much they love it, which I think just shows how much we all need to choose joy!

Here was our Deborah & Co. Booth at the Teach Them Diligently Convention in Atlanta Georgia! We were there over the weekend, and it was incredibly fun to meet so many blog readers! 4. Thanks for the link-up. Love the skirts. Blue is my favorite color but that yellow striped skirt is just too stinkin’ cute.

I am one of your younger readers as well. I’m now in my early twenties, but I’ve been following your blog since I was about 17. I enjoy your post and have been encouraged many times over the years. Thank you!

  6. I am also a younger reader at 18. Thank you for your encouragement! 🙂

  7. Hello! I am one of your younger readers as well. I found your blog around the age of 15/16 and I’m 19 now. I have been greatly encouraged by your blog and your family. 🙂

  8. Rachel says:

I’m a teenage girl reader! (18, but I’ve been following you for ages!) 🙂
I definitely don’t dress quite the same way you do (I wear shorts and pants about half the time, or maybe a little more) but I so appreciate your commitment to modesty! You’ve given me all sorts of good outfit ideas, and ideas on how to be more modest, and I really appreciate the effort you go to not to be legalistic. That is so huge to me.
I also appreciate the way you model Christian motherhood and femininity, and being a wife! It’s so nice to see and read about all that in this stage of my life!
    🙂

  9. I like your navy top. What brand is it?

  10. Hannah Beth Reid says:

I have the Choose Joy shirt too and also get lots of nice comments. Sometimes I wish it was written backwards so I’d be reminded any time I’m near a mirror. It is a great reminder!
