Modest Monday (Denim Skirt) and a Link Up!

It was a rough week with the pregnancy and I’ve slowed w-a-y down in my energy level. I had to make an emergency trip to my midwife because I was having a lot of early labor symptoms, which I’m not ready for at 7 months!! Saturday I woke up, took my morning pills with a big glass of water and went right to the bathroom and threw it all up and was exhausted for the day. (Sorry if that’s tmi!). So overall, I’m ready for a new week to be here!

Denim Skirt with Black Striped Top and White Cardigan

I had one outfit left from my Six Ways to Style A Denim Skirt post that I didn’t share. I came home from church Sunday and promptly took a long nap, so I’m using that photo for Modest Monday. 🙂 I wore this same top and white cardigan with a black skirt to run errands on Saturday. It’s really comfortable! The weather has actually been warm enough here in Missouri to wear something like this.

This week has also been the start of the third trimester sleepless nights. I usually can sleep for 3-5 hours, and then I’m awake for about 3 hours. Sunday morning I fell back asleep and Sean woke me up with less than 30 minutes to get myself and the 2 youngest girls ready for church!

I was SO thankful that I had put my hair in my favorite overnight curlers. A friend had told me about the Wrap Snap & Go curlers and they work really well for my hair. I quickly took them out of my hair, pulled some hair back in an XS flexi clip and was done with my hair.

Wrap Snap and Go Curlers! So easy to use!

  1. Oh my! I had the same thing when I was seven months along with my youngest. I kept going into labor and had to go to the hospital and drink a ton of water and they’d give me meds to stop the labor. Eventually after the third week in a row of going into labor the meds they were giving me kicked in and stopped the labor.

But that first night, at seven months we realized we were NOT prepared as I hadn’t even packed my hospital bag yet, lol! We also hadn’t completed his room yet so we had to remedy that, just in case. Thanks for hosting today and I hope your energy level picks back up! 🙂

  2. Praying you have better week and that you feel better! Thank you for hosting this link up!

  3. I LOVE the outfit!

I do have a question for you. I’ve ordered several things from Zulily. And I find the quality to be less than what I’d expect from Walmart. Example: i bought a sweater (loved it!) the first day I wore it the seam in the cuff ripped down the middle. Other tops are flimsy of what not. Saddest thing? Can’t return anything. I do have one dress I love! And as of now it’s holding up. The other day I noticed my fave top from them has a rip in the sea
as well. (Tunic and loose fitting too)

How has your experience been? I like the prices, but I’m finding it may not be worth it. 🙁

  4. Love your outfit! Good for you to listen to your body and rest when you need it. Prayers for you that the baby will stay in there for now. I had my last baby at 7 months…trust me, you don’t want that!! Glad whatever is causing yours could be stopped.

  5. I’m curious and I hope you don’t mind me asking…are you planning a home birth this time? I enjoyed reading your birth story with your last child and just wondered if you were going the same route this time. I so enjoy your updates!

    • Yes!! I have the same midwife and hope everything goes just as smoothly as before! I just realized I haven’t shared that I’m doing another home birth. lol I guess I just assumed my readers knew. 😉

  6. Hello, I know this is an older post but I was wondering if you could share a picture of your hair after you have used the Wrap Snap & Go Curlers. I’m very interested in getting some but I would love to see a pic first! MY hair looks very similar to yours. Thanks:)
