Modest Monday and a Link Up!

Ruffle Skirt with new fabric from Deborah and Co!

This is not the best picture (it was taken in the afternoon with bad lighting!), but I wanted to share it anyway because it shows the new fabric we have at Deborah & Co. I’m wearing the women’s ruffle skirt in the Kaleidoscope fabric. I really like it! We also have a new Red Damask fabric. Both of these fabrics are available in all our custom sewn maternity, women’s, and girl’s skirts!

I had this skirt made in the 29″ option, so it would be a nice summer skirt.

LBRI Makeup for a natural look!

Curious about what makeup I normally use? This is it. I like to keep things simple and on the more natural looking side. Most of my makeup comes from L’BRI. I really love the wet/dry foundation. It goes on perfectly smooth, I’ve never had any foundation work as well as this one does! The eye shadow and blush is from a holiday kit they sold but I really like the colors and use that a lot.

My lip gloss comes from either L’BRI or Cowgirl Dirt. Lately I’ve been using the Cowgirl Dirt lip gloss more as I think it is a bit more moisturizing.

White Skirt

I’m starting a six week summer challenge with Fit Yummy Mummy today! See this picture above? I Β definitely look like I’ve had five children, I have the typical mommy tummy and really want to work on getting healthier and stronger! Losing the mommy tummy would be great as well. πŸ™‚

I really like Fit Yummy Mummy and her workout videos. I think her plan was even mentioned in the Trim Healthy Mama book as an option they liked. A huge disclaimer is that she dressed in typical workout clothes, and a lot of her advertising you will see her in a bikini. I obviously don’t like that part, but I just do the workouts downstairs away from my children.

I joined the forum to get her new monthly workout videos and they only take about 15 minutes a day to do. But I’m sweating and sore at the end of those 15 minutes!

I’ll be sharing updates on my six week journey each week!

What I Wore

Skirt – Women’s Ruffle Skirt from Deborah & Co.

Blouse – Thrift Store

Sandals – Marshalls (I think!)

Makeup – L’BRI Pure and Natural and Cowgirl Dirt

  1. I’m going to need to join you on losing the mommy tummy πŸ™‚ You look great after having 5 kids! I really enjoy your link party… It attracts a bunch of wonderful moms who I love having over at my site. Keep up the good work!

  2. The fabric is so summery and beautiful. Thank you for sharing the makeup link and the workout links. I need to join you–my last baby was 21 years ago and I still have the baby tummy. πŸ™‚ Thanks again for hosting this party in the midst of busy motherhood! ~Pamela

You look great for having 5 kids! I have been wanting to get back to exercising as well! I hope you’ll post your progress and results.

  4. You look great! I feel your pain, though after having 5 babies in 5 years myself. Those work outs look interesting, thanks for sharing!

  5. Not sure what tummy you are talking about because there isn’t one in that photo. Like fishing for compliments! I have what looks like a 20-week belly, no joke, and baby is 17 months

Believe me, it’s there! I could have posted pictures that looked even more convincing but I didn’t have the nerve. πŸ˜‰

      • Sorry, wasn’t meaning to sound mean or anything πŸ˜‰ I think the modest clothes certainly help hide things! But I also know ALL about feeling uncomfortable in your own body so if you are and taking steps to fix it then yay! Glad you also mention in your Week 1 post that losing inches is good and not just pounds. I’ll be following! I’ve been intrigued by the mummy tummy stuff but am currently a fit2b member.

  6. I’ve been wanting to start using L’Bri makeup, but haven’t been able to afford it yet.

  7. I think you look great after having 5 kids! πŸ™‚ So where is the white skirt from? I really like it!

  8. You look fantastic Caroline, and not just in this picture, but every week.

  9. Weight lifting is the best for toning your body and its great for getting healthy. πŸ™‚ ive already dropped 11 pounds and feel great! I had a friend that did it and i was so inspired by the change in her and her body that i decided to go for it too.its hard, but its so worth it.Your outfit is so cute!I love the skirt.

You look absolutely amazing for 5 kids! We all wish we could look a little better, but I’m being more healthy is always a good thing to pursue. πŸ™‚

  12. Hey! Cute skirt very fifties. πŸ™‚ I do have a suggestion (and I’m NOT trying to be a jerk) you could try tucking the shirt in and pulling the skirt up to your waist (doesn’t work with all shirts, however). The length is less awkward, but it’s still modest and below the knee. Another thing (I feel so rude, but I assume you believe me saying that I’m not meaning to be) for just working out long LOOSE sweatpants might be easier. Just a thought, not an order or even really a suggestion. Anyway, the skirts were cute and you’re really pretty. I love your hair!

    • Caroline says:

I don’t look so great with tucking in shirts since I’ve had five children. πŸ™‚ And I do use loose sweatpants for workouts, as well as a workout skirt. Thanks for the ideas! πŸ™‚
