I’m not a die hard Charlotte Mason fan, but I would consider myself to have been a Charlotte Mason student in high school. My mom was so inspired by Charlotte Mason that she used all of her methods during my high school years. Before that time we did lots of unit studies, living books, etc. so it wasn’t a surprise when we transitioned to a Charlotte Mason education.

When she latched on to Charlotte Mason’s methods we did it all – the time schedule, the copy work, dictation, nature walks and a nature notebook, poetry, music, and art studies. Living books for literature and history were always found on our bookshelves. The only thing that was not Charlotte Mason approved was my Saxon math, which I pleaded with my Mom to let me keep. :)

I have such fond memories of my school years, and now that my Mom has passed away I treasure the memories even more. They are my inspiration for when I get discouraged in homeschooling my own children.

In a way, those school days are an inheritance that she passed on to me; a treasure of wonderful memories to guide me through my own journey of homeschooling my children.

When I started homeschooling I realized a strict Charlotte Mason method was’t practical for me, but I do as much as I can. In the end, I suppose we are a strange mixture of textbooks and Charlotte Mason. :)

Simply Charlotte Mason recently started selling this lovely rubber stamp, with the famous Charlotte Mason quote on it.

I am. I can. I ought. I will.

As soon as I saw the stamp I almost cried. I have that motto engraved in my mind, and it makes for one of my treasured homeschool memories. The quote was everywhere in our schoolroom. It was on notebooks, bookshelves, and I had a index card with it written down so I could memorize the saying along with its meanings. It is inspiring, and I was so glad to see this sweet stamp! It’s perfect for using on teacher notebooks, stamping on children’s school papers and much more!

Simply Charlotte Mason has offered to give a rubber stamp away to one of you!
