I love the history of Thanksgiving. Reading the stories each year of how the Pilgrims came to America, and the hardships they endured inspires me, and reminds me how blessed I really am. This year my children and I are all ready for a fun break from textbooks, so I’m putting together Thanksgiving unit studies for my older boys, and then for my Kindergarten age daughter who is 5. I’m very excited to share with you the unit study I put together for Kindergarten age children! *Update, I’ve since heard that this unit study is good through 2nd grade!*

This unit study is on the history of Thanksgiving, and includes resources for crafts, math games, scripture printables, coloring pages, videos, and of course fun books to read – all about Thanksgiving!

  1. This is such a sweet unit study, Caroline!

  2. Thank you so much for making this available to us. One reason I don’t do many unit studies is the time it takes to put them together!! I really appreciate this 🙂

    • It did take quite a bit of time to put this together! I don’t do many unit studies because of that also, but I couldn’t resist doing on for Thanksgiving. It is such a fun time!

  3. This is great! Will you be making the study for your older boys available as well? I’d love to purchase it…

  4. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. It looks so perfect for my little kindergartener. Any chance you will be sharing the one you made for your older boys? *hint, hint* 🙂

  5. I am unable to download this unit study ? help ..;)

  6. Thank you!

  7. Nikki Kratzer says:

    I can’t find it 🙁

  8. We are living overseas and I don’t think we can get the books in time. Would anyone like to do this unit with us via skype (well, at least the reading parts)?

  9. So where is the link to download? Because I have clicked on the things that I thought were it, but I am coming up with nothing. :/

  10. Hi, this is my first stop at your site. I thought it would be a book review (came from In The Bookcase), but what I found is so much better. Do you homeschool? If not, you should.

  11. Just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed this unit study! Thank you so much for providing it for free. I did the study with my kindergartener, and my 3rd grader and preschooler tagged along. It worked fantastically for all of them. My eldest wasn’t bored, and my youngest was engaged enough to stay in the room (and that’s high praise for my 3 year old boy!). It made our Thanksgiving a lot more fun. I hope you plan to do future unit studies.
