We are going to finish out this month with several more homeschool giveaways and other related posts. In just one short week we will be in September! This year is flying by. As I pondered on what to blog about during September, I realized I wanted to get back to the topics of femininity and modesty. So I decided to do a challenge for women during September!

We will be doing a “Frumps to Pumps” series, based on Sarah Mae’s ebook that you can find here. Don’t let the title scare you away, you don’t have to wear high heel shoes every day! The concept is that we women let ourselves go. Our families wake up and find us in our bathrobes, sweat pants that stay on all day, hair half hazardly fixed, and a dazed look on our faces. That is not true of everyone, but I know I fall into the habit of just quickly throwing clothes on during the week and start my day, not paying enough attention to how prepared ย I am for the day ahead.

Frumps-Pumps-

I’ve never done a series based on an eBook, but I think it will be a wonderful challenge for all of us. If you have the money, please grab the $5.00 ebook, which you will read once a day during the series. Leave a comment below letting me know you want to join the series that starts in September, so I get an idea of how many ladies are joining. My thought is that every day you will check in by leaving a comment on the recent blog post, so that will just take you a few minutes each day. Then every Friday I will have an actual link up at the bottom of the post so if you blog you can share your journey with us, of how your week has gone.

I’ve worn this dress before on the blog….this is what I wore to church on Sunday.

  1. I’m so glad you’re doing this series! I bought the book a long time ago and have never gone through it all the way…need someone to hold me accountable! Looking forward to it!!

  2. My husband is deploying middle of next month and then we’re moving out west when he gets back, so I’ll be moving home to stay with my parents with our toddler and newborn next month. I say that as a disclaimer since I’m willing to try since I already have the book and haven’t read through it all the way, but I have no idea how well I’ll be able to keep up in the middle of putting all our stuff in storage in alabama, moving to NC, nursing around the clock, and trying to keep a two and a half year old from completely falling apart when Daddy leaves for the Middle East.

  3. I just purchased the e-book and am very much looking forward to reading it. Mothers, well all women but mothers it seems more so, need motivation sometimes as we get so busy taking care of and doing for others that we tend to forget about ourselves.

  4. Cameron suzanne says:

bought this book years ago and would like to join in the book club and be held accountable for it:-). looking forward to it

  5. I already have the ebook…go it in the huge ebook bundle earlier this summer. It was a great read but I’d love to slow down and read it again!

  6. I read along with you a couple of years ago when you did your 31 days to femininity series – it was such an encouragement to me.
I have this ebook already, have skimmed through it but not studied it through. I’m going to join in and will comment and post as I am able.
This is just what I need before winter sets in!

  7. I’m getting this book as I need a refresher in this area. I’m looking forward to doing this with all of you and am going to have my 13 yr old daughter do it with me.

  8. I am doing the Hello mornings challenge right now, and I think this would go right along with it. great dress by the way.

  9. Caroline, At 57 years old, I could really use a “refresher” course and just order the ebook.

  10. I’m in! I’ll be traveling with my girls while Daddy is gone for his annual training, but we’ll try anyway!

  11. I will do it! I need some accountability! ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. I want to participate.

  13. Hi There

So glad I found your blog! I’m a observantly Jewish mom who also dresses modestly. I’ve been dressing far my frumpy since I had my son, and I decided to make a change…Looking forward to the series!

  14. I’m in!!

  15. I definitely need this right now. I got the ebook in May, but haven’t finished it yet. My youngest just turned two months old (I also have an 18 month old and 3 year old). It’s time to put the yoga pants up and get our days on a better schedule!!

  16. I have this book, but I procrastinate at reading e-books. When I read I want to curl up with a book instead of reading from my laptop. And I don’t own a tablet. So I have several great e-books that I downloaded when they were free, but I’ve never read. It sounds fun to join in and go through this book.

I really like getting dressed right away each day. I just don’t feel “ready” when I don’t take the time for my morning hair, face, and dress routine.

  17. What fun to see what you are doing and wearing each week! Thank you for hosting, too. would you consider linking this series to the DeepRoots ‘EOA’ Wednesday link-up over several weeks? Sounds really helpful!

  18. Hello! I’m interested in this series, but also have a question on the previous series on swimsuits/bikinis. I left the question as a comment, but you must not have seen it. Will there be a completion to that series? It seemed like you were going to write more, as the posts alluded to, but I never saw any final posts? Although I don’t wear skirts exclusively or homeschool, I always enjoy your blog posts and was looking forward to the rest of that series.

    • I wish I would have had time to finish the swimsuit series before August started. ๐Ÿ™ I was committed to focusing on Homeschooling this month, and I just felt it was late in the year to pick back up a swimsuit series in September. I’m sure I will be writing about it next year! So sorry about that. ๐Ÿ™

  19. I’m in! I have the ebook but haven’t read it yet. Looking forward to it.

  20. This sounds very interrsting

  21. SO looking forward to this series! ๐Ÿ™‚ Many blessings, Lisa

  22. Count me in. I’ve been focusing on modesty on Mondays, as inspired by you, Caroline, so I think this will fit right in. I’ve been posting pictures of my daughters, but maybe it’s my turn. Not sure how that will work with Friday link-ups, but I’ll figure it out. Thanks for giving me the motivation to finally buy and read the book I’ve been curious about for several months. ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. that is one gorgeous Maxi dress ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. I’m going to give it a shot. I know I shouldn’t let my self esteem ride on how I look, but there is merit to the adage “When you look good, you feel good.”

  25. I bought this book in the eBook bundle awhile back and haven’t even looked at it. I hope to stick to this and join everyone!
