Modest Monday and A Link Up!

I hope everyone had an amazing week! We had such a fun day on the 4th of July with friends and family. I was totally exhausted by the end of the day but it was worth it. 🙂

If you don’t follow me on Facebook and already saw this update, I’ll share it here. It’s nothing big, I just went and cut my hair recently! Hardly anyone can even tell that I took 6 inches off in length, but the bangs part is pretty noticeable. 🙂 I’m still undecided if I truly love the bangs, but I have them for now so I’m enjoying them until I get the urge to grow them out again. My hair grows fast so it’s not that big of a deal. My friend made a comment that I go back and forth with bangs as much as she moves her house around. I had to laugh because she is true! I like variety in life. 🙂

Modest Monday and A Link Up!

I look at these pictures and I see a wife and mama. Sometimes I feel like a teenager still, and then I look at my oldest and can’t believe I have a 9 year old!

Caroline during Modest Monday Photo Shoot

I have my serious side….the part that is weighed down with cares and concerns. Some I should keep close to my heart and pray over, others I need to just lay at the foot of the cross and let go of them….

Blue Dress With Halftee

Then there is my lighthearted side. This is the part of me that my husband fell in love with, the spontaneous, happy, very optimistic and hopeful Caroline. Ever the dreamer….I doubt that will stop. My husband knows when I’m coming to him with the words “what do you think about….?” that it could mean anything from ideas for starting a whole new business online, to merely ideas for dinner. 🙂

Red Shoes

My red shoes. These are the first red shoes I have ever owned, and I’m enjoying them this summer. 🙂

Mini Flexi Clip

My mini flexi clip. Where would I be without them?

(Ok, a bit of drama, but seriously I use them a lot!)

What I Wore

Dress – Thrift Store (thanks to my sister giving it to me!)

Red Halftee – Deborah & Co. (I love these, so easy to layer under clothes!)

Red Shoes – Zulily

Earrings – Kohls

Flexi Clip – Mini Tree of Life from Lilla Rose

Lip Gloss – Cowgirl Dirt

(seriously the only thing I had time to put on before getting to church!)

I’m also wearing a fitsplint under my dress in the attempts to heal my diastis from having five children. I’ve worn several postpartum type wraps and this is by far the most comfortable. Sometimes I forget I have it on. When I went to bed last night my core was sore, which I consider a good thing. I’m combing the fitsplint with the tummy workouts at Fit2B, and also walking at the track near us. Highly recommend Fit2B, I don’t agree with totally everything on the site (not in the terms of exercise but in the “focus inward” yoga part), but it is the first workout that is easy to do which focuses on healing a tummy from having children.

  1. I love the red shoes! I’ll have to go hang out at “zulily” a little bit today.

  2. Very nice outfit. You look modest and attractive.
    Thanks for hosting the hop.
    Have a blessed week.

  3. Dear Caroline,

Your’s is the very first blog that I found while I was searching for Christian Women Blogs. Your blog is more than words can describe. It is a gift from God to come and visit and become more inspired to become a growing Christian.

P.S. I just started a blog. I hope you have time to come by and visit.

    God’s Peace!

  4. Jacqueline says:

I think the bangs look REALLY good on you!

  5. kim Crawford says:

The bangs really add a look of maturity and beauty.

  6. I remember that you had used a tummy wrap after Deborah was born. In the future will use this new one after a baby is born, or will you use the one you used before?

  7. I love those shoes~! You look adorable. I only wear skirts and dresses too and get compliments for looking like a lady. Not sure if that means I look matronly or not, lol. New to your site, enjoying it.

  8. Definitely keep the bangs! They look great — I think women with bangs always look more put together, even when they’re not, than women without bangs! 🙂

  9. Thank you for continually posting outfits! I’m currently reevaluating my clothing choices and working towards a more active modesty, and seeing good examples of NON FRUMPY modesty is very encouraging for me.

  10. Ariana W says:

Your new hairstyle is very nice and fits your face quite well!

  11. I love the red, white and blue!! Very pretty and I, too, love the bangs 🙂 Thanks for encouraging others…God bless you, dear sister!

  12. You look beautiful! How do you stay so thin after having 5 kids?!?

  13. I checked ZULILY for your shoes!! love them! I couldn’t find them, though. What brand are they? I just love your modest Monday posts! thank you!

  14. I think your bangs are cute! My hair used to be long enough that I could sit on it. And people never seemed to notice when I would cut several inches off it. I certainly noticed the difference, but they never did!

    Thanks for hosting today.

  15. rebecca says:

Cute outfit, but we don’t believe in cutting the feminine hair the Lord gave us! My husband of 8 years just loves the length of mine. We use lots of conditioner and prefer to keep it super long and flowy.

  16. Thank you for hostessing!
And thank you for the encouragement on modesty, it’s something I’ve been working on.

  17. You are so beautiful… I love that dress, looks great on you

  18. I love multicolored shoes, and that is quite a lovely dress on you!
