Modest Monday And A Link Up!

Sunday I crashed at church, and spent a lot of the day in bed. I’m not sure yet if my adrenals are flaring up, or if I’m just fighting a cold and I’m tired. I’m going to start on a new adrenal supplement tomorrow that a Dr. just suggested my sister take, so I’m hoping it will help my energy. I don’t have the time to be this tired!

I had the chance to go to a thrift store this week and found the blue skirt I’m wearing in these pictures. The belt is a new item that will be coming to Deborah & Co. along with some other new items for spring! My baby is getting old enough that I don’t have to nurse her constantly, and took a chance that we could make it through church without nursing. Even if we had to I think we could still have pulled it off in this outfit. 🙂

  5. Love that belt – it totally makes the outfit!

    • Thanks! I loved getting to wear it, It’s been over a year since I’ve been able to wear any belts because of my baby. 🙂 Well worth the “sacrifice” but it was nice to get to wear one again. 🙂

  6. Will the belt be available in other colors, as well ?
    Another winning ensemble!

  7. I hope you are feeling better soon.

  8. This might be my favorite outfit yet!

  9. Thanks for hosting another link-up! I enjoy visiting all the wonderful sites.

  10. What a beautifully simple outfit and love the belt and shoes! Just pondering….with all the tiredness could you be pregnant?

    • Nope, no pregnancy. 🙂 I’ve struggled with adrenal fatigue for 12 years, it comes and goes. Between moving and working a lot on the business I’m just overly tired. You aren’t the first one who thought that though! 😉

  11. Your outfit looks so pretty. I hope you are feeling better soon. Can you take the Adrenal Supplement while pregnant? I am pregnant with our fifth, due in April, and I would love to try something like this.

    • Kimberly, you might want to read my comment I just posted below this one. 🙂 Everyone is different and you have to decide how sick you feel, and what you need in order to survive. I have actually taken hydrocortisone while pregnant (under a Dr. supervision) because my adrenals were so low. I personally would have no problem taking this supplement if my midwife did not have any huge reservations.

  12. I’ve been tired and hypothyroid, supposedly controlled for years, since 2000. When I saw the part about the adrenal supplement I was curious, so I went to the link you provided, but no info is really on that page. I found more info on http://www.pureencapsulations.com/products/shop-by-product-function/view-all-by-name/phyto-adr.html and the bottom has a warning “Not to be taken by pregnant or lactating women.” Just wanted to give you a heads-up, since you mentioned nursing. They’re probably just being overly cautious, but you might want to talk to a doctor or pharmacist to be sure it’s safe to take.

    • Thank you for sharing! I have had adrenal problems for about 12 years now, and struggled through all five of my pregnancies with it. I’ve researched a lot into adrenal supplements that are safe to take while pregnant and nursing, because I HAD to take supplements. I almost lost our second son because of my low adrenal glands (my midwife knew of no other reason why I struggled so much and almost had a miscarriage with him. I’ve never struggled through a pregnancy as much as with him). I’ve had a supplement like this one approved to take while nursing, and I’ve taken things like this while pregnant also. If your adrenals get really low I’ve read that your baby can start surviving on your adrenals glands in the womb, so I feel it’s very important to supplement when I’m pregnant. I don’t worry nearly as much about what I take while nursing an older baby who is eating lots of solids as well….. Everyone has to make these decisions for themselves, mainly based on how sick they feel and what they need to do to survive.

      • So glad you’ve already checked into this. I got worried when reading that disclaimer. I know my doctor told me to closely monitor my thyroid while pregnant and if I stopped taking the proper dose baby could die or have severe problems.

  13. Caroline,
Could you do a post sometime about different ways you can use a flexi clip? I know there are so many more things you can do with it, but I am not an idea machine. I love your outfit, especially the skirt… good find!

    • Yes I was planning on doing a post soon!

      • Yay! I’d love that too! My hair is your length, although much thinner and I pretty much do the same two or three things with my various flexi clips. I love them, but sometimes I get bored with the same bun.

  14. Hope you’re feeling better! Thanks for the lovely post & for hosting, & God bless!
