Modest Monday & A Link Up!

Yesterday was extremely busy and we ended up getting home about 9:30 in the evening. Friends invited us over to their house in the late afternoon and of course we stayed later visiting then we planned on! So by the time we had a chance to take some pictures for today’s post it was dark, and we snapped one picture in our kitchen. I’ll try to do better next week! You even get to see my cracked outlet in the picture below! :)

What I Wore

Skirt: Kohls (A few years ago)

Cardigan:  Zulily  (I love the ruffles!)

Black halftee: Deborah & Co.

Earrings: Wired Vintage Etsy Store

How has everyone been doing with the colder weather coming on? I get asked lots of questions this time of year about staying warm while wearing skirts in the winter time. Friday my husband and I went shopping for a new (to us) car, and we were standing on car lots all afternoon. It was a really chilly day but I stayed very warm! I wore a long maxi skirt and wore black fleece lined tights underneath with boots on. They are so cozy warm, and I just love how they feel.

As a side note: later that evening my husband surprised me and brought me back to the place where we first met to celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary! We met at a scripture study for college students (he was in college, I was still being homeschooled when I went with my older sister to this study group). I love our story of how we met. He had made lots of phone calls and managed to obtain the building for the evening, and his mom went early and set up a candlelight dinner for us to enjoy. To top it all off, he wrote me the most beautiful letter. I’m truly blessed!

(We took a picture with our phone at a spot where we had pictures taken when we were just getting to know each other about 12 years ago. Such sweet memories!)

Link Up Time!

Please feel free to share posts about anything concerning being a godly feminine woman. Topics include:  modesty, being a wife, mother, homeschooler, homemaker, cooking, sewing, etc.

Please note: My blog is a bit different as I represent a business and a blog. While I love to have you all link up your modest clothing outfits, ect. please be considerate of the fact that I own a modest clothing company, and I would ask that you refrain from linking up posts that are in conflict with that-i.e reviewing other companies clothes, etc. That being said, if you forget please do not be offended if I take down your post. Thank you!

Please grab the button below and share on your blog post so others can come and join in the link up as well! You can grab the code to this button on the right hand side of the blog.

You look so pretty :) I think ruffles just feel odd when I wear them – I tend to stay a little too safe I think ;)
I read your post about fleece lined nylons and the other day I went to Goodwill with my Mom and saw they now sell NEW stretch pants that are lined with fleece for 6.99 !! I was going to buy a pair but wasn’t sure if they would stretch good since I just found out I am pregnant with Baby #5 but I think I will go back and try them :)
I think your date sounds so fun :) My husband and I met at Church when I was 9 and he was 12 but did not like each other until 15 and 18 :)

Your outfit looks FABULOUS, Caroline! That sweater is just beautiful and with your trim figure, the ruffles are so flattering. Sadly, ruffles make me look fuller than I’d like – haha. Happy anniversary again!

I LOVE that cardigan! In the process of making a ruffled shirt right now, and I think maybe I’ll just put ruffles on everything at this point. :) I love the skirt too! Just a great outfit altogether!

What a pretty cardigan! I’m also a ruffles fan. (Both the chips & the pretty style element :) Found your blog this morning from a Delightful Glow and I’m sure glad I did. Have a fantastic week, Caroline.

I really enjoy your Modest Monday posts as wells as the links. I have a question though. I have in the last couple of years been convicted about my style of dress, and wear skirts or dresses all the time except for the occassional pajamas, running sweats, and the rare jeans around the house. The point is I’ve went almost a year without really wearing pants in public, and this Saturday we’re taking our kids to an amusement park. I haven’t been to one since switching to wearing skirts/dresses (except while pregnant which doesn’t count cause I couldn’t ride anything anyway), and I don’t know what to wear. On the one hand I can’t stand the idea of wearing jeans around so many people (especially since I’m eight weeks post partum), and yet I want to be able to enjoy the park with my kids and ride the rides with them and I don’t know if that’s possible in a skirt. My daughter always wears leggings or jeans under her skirts/dresses, but I don’t think that will work for me. Am I just stressing needlessly? Thanks for any help or suggestions. Love in Christ, Sarah
