We are going to do something a bit different this month on the blog, and I hope you like it! I currently have two things on my mind-one is a secret (the answer is no, I’m not pregnant! It’s a business related project that I can’t wait to tell you about!), and the other is homeschooling. We start up school in a few days, and I’m so not ready still! I’m currently painting our dining room table and chairs and that is kind of important to have for homeschooling.
A schedule still needs to be created, but thankfully I have most of my lesson planning done.
So with that being said, we are going to spend the month of August talking about homeschooling! Every Monday there will be a new homeschool post instead of Modest Monday, and the link up will be only for posts that have to do with homeschooling. That might disapoint some of you, but there is only so much I can do right now-and I hope you’ll understand, I have to place my family first.
I have a few giveaways planned as well, so that should make things exciting! I look forward to chatting with you all about curriculum, schedules, homeschool rooms, and more!

I look forward to your Modest Monday posts, but welcome the homeschooling posts all the same. I can never get enough homeschooling advice and ideas
I’m excited for the homeschool link up! New ideas are always a blessing. We are doing some light school work this summer, but I also need to get our schedule and lessons more mapped out for the bigger part of the school year.
We are preparing for the upcoming school year too….making lesson plans, getting the books organized and decluttering in hopes that we can keep the house more organized this year.
I’d love to read your homeschooling posts! I read somewhere on your blog that you’re using Heart of Dakota. We found their curriculum a few years ago, and have been really enjoying it. So many other companies choose books that my husband and I are just not comfortable with for our children!
I think this sounds wonderful! I am beginning a preschool homeschool program with my oldest on August 27th. I have some experience since I was homeschooled from 3rd through 11th grade. However, this is still going to be new for me to be the teacher and I’m pretty excited about it!
Awesome! We already started our school year on Monday, but looking forward to your homeschooling encouragement…I’m sure we all will be blessed!
I too look forward to Modest Mondays… awww I guess I’ll be okay till September lol. We don’t homeschool, so it’s a moot point for us.
“the answer is no, I’m not pregnant!” Haha! I’m looking forward to this new series. Homeschooling has been on my mind a lot lately!
Yay! Looking forward to the posts! We have those same (loaded up) bookshelves that we got at Staples. I’m always thinning them out every Summer, but they fill right back up again. I am starting my 8th year of homeschooling, (and I have 5 children too, one starting their first year, one starting their last) but this is the first time I’m using The Well Planned Day. I’m looking forward to it. I will be interested to see what you do for planning. Blessings, Melissa
Sounds exciting! I look forward to checking in. Oh, and I thought I was the only one out there that knows to NEVER wear a white bra under a white shirt. I have even taught my teen to wear a nude colored bra.
That sounds great! Can’t wait to read!
I think it sounds like a great idea! I can use all the help and advice that I can get! This year we will have a 5th grader, 3rd grader, 1st grader, kindergartener, and a 3 year old! Just typing all that kind of scares me!
You’d think with all the shelving I’ve purchased over the years.. that I wouldn’t turn every shade of envious GREEN when I see a picture like that!
{sigh} shelves full of books… light… space… {happy sigh}
So is that your house, or a borrowed photo?? : )
If you click on the picture it takes you to Flickr. Sadly it’s a borrowed picture. I’d love to have bookshelves that look like that also!
Looking forward to the homeschooling post series here, Caroline!
Blessings on your weekend,
Katie
Yay! I’m excited! Sometimes, changing things up makes the ordinary not-so-ordinary. It’ll be a joy to see others thoughts on homeschooling. Now, get that table painted! We started school last week, so I’ll be checking in to see what others are up to as well.
I’m excited for the change up (though I do love your modest mondays)! I have a pre-school age little girl, but we definitely do “school” at home.
Well, I am not a homeschool mom but I am a modest mom. So, with that being said I will miss Modest mondays:( Guess I will catch back up in September.
I’m sorry, I knew that I had a few readers who don’t homeschool. I just can only do so much though, and homeschooling is all I can focus on while we get started back with school. We will see you in September!!!
I have a 10,8,3& a 1 and I would like to homeschool but how in the WORLD WOULD I START
I feel like its to late especially that my sons are already on public school and my oldest is in special Ed!
