My sweet husband let me run into the thrift store Friday night while he patiently walked around holding the baby for me. Thrift store shopping is not on his list of fun things to do.
I was able to find the cropped jacket, and a winter skirt for me, plus a long sleeve winter shirt for our oldest son, so I was happy.
Brown Cropped Jacket-Thrift Store
UnderCover Mama Nursing Tank (worn under the jacket-it was so easy to nurse in this jacket because I could tuck the tank into my skirt!)
Brown Skirt-?? I can’t remember where I got this at!
Brown Mary Jane Shoes
Half Up with an X-Small Flexi Clip
I’ve come to realize that I love my winter wardrobe a lot because it’s easy to find modest things to wear. It’s very difficult for me to find modest tops I like during the summer .
What is your favorite season for clothes? Summer or winter?
Link Up Time!
Please feel free to share posts about anything concerning being a godly feminine woman. Topics include: modesty, being a wife, mother, homeschooler, homemaker, cooking, sewing, etc.
Please note: My blog is a bit different as I represent a business and a blog. While I love to have you all link up your modest clothing outfits, ect. please be considerate of the fact that I own a modest clothing company, and I would ask that you refrain from linking up posts that are in conflict with that-i.e reviewing other companies clothes, ect. That being said, if you forget please do not be offended if I take down your post. Thank you!
Please grab the button below and share on your blog post so others can come and join in the link up as well! You can grab the code to this button on the right hand side of the blog.

Thank you for the link-up, Caroline! I love that jacket, too! Very classy!
The outfit is absolutely beautiful! You always find ways to look feminine and modest, without looking “frumpy.” That is always a challenge for me. Modest summer clothing is definitely difficult to find. I would love a simple sundress with a little coverup for the shoulders. I’m still looking, though!
Thanks so much for hosting the linkup. Many blessings, Lisa
My husband loves thrift shopping, but isn’t interested in the women’s clothing section.
finding good nursing clothing has been an issue for me. (being a small person most of the nursing and maternity clothes are way too big) I’ve been collecting button up shirts in anticipation of the next baby!
Very nice. I love tailored pieces but mostly seem to wear wash and wear items lately! May I lovingly suggest a bright piece of jewelery for this outfit? I think a pop of color would be nice, like a bright red beaded necklace or something in turquoise? A colorful brooch or bracelet? Otherwise it’s lovely!
Thank you for your ideas! My sister loves bright colors but I just haven’t bought very many bright jewelry items. I tend to go for the softer pieces, though I love how other people pull of bright splashes of color in their wardrobe.
You look beautiful ! For me I feel it’s so hard to thrift shop. I FEEL LIKE I NEVER FIND ANYTHING PRETTY
I dont always find stuff. Do not give up on thirfts store, just keep trying
I just want the thirft store on Sat. I was able to get a sirkt and about 5 shirts for me. I like fall and winter, I can find more cloths for me. I was able to get my 4 kids cloths and my husband shirts for work. I enjoy going shopping at thirft stores. My husband went one time with me and was not fun. He was ready to leave after a few mintues.
I love this outfit, Caroline! Especially the jacket–you look lovely!
Thank you!
You look gorgeous! Modest Monday is my absolute favorite. You and I appear to have similarly textured hair. I currently have mine cut shorter because I can’t get it to look decent long. It is very thick and heavy and pulls everything down. Can you talk a little about your hair routine, such as what products/devices you use?
I think this is one of my favorite outfits of yours. I really like the whole vintage feel!
I was thrilled that I FINALLY found something that looked vintage! I’ve looked and looked for some vintage type clothes, so I snatched this up as soon as I saw it.
Wow, you look really young
Thanks!
I’m going to be 30 next year. Yikes!
I love thrifting, too. I actually buy the majority of our family’s wardrobe that way. I can’t tell you how many times I have found like-new clothing in brands, like The Children’s Place or Gap, for 10% of what they cost new. It sure save me a bundle with having 5 kids now.
I have the opposite issue when it comes to finding tops. I have a hard time finding flattering tops for winter-wear. I live in the desert and can always find a nice blouse or t-shirt with feminine details. Long sleeve shirts, 3/4 sleeve and nice sweaters are a little harder to find, at least in the thrift stores near me. I have found skirts that work well, though, so that’s a blessing.
The other issue is that it gets cold here in fall and winter–cold enough to have a light sweater and something cover the legs and feet, but not cold enough for boots or really warm things. I am trying to dress modestly with skirts and dresses and still haven’t found the solution that meets in the middle on that one. I might try to wear leggings under a skirt, but detest having to wear more layers….and so I am still trying to find a good solution for cool weather.
I really enjoy your Modest Monday posts. Keep it up!
Hi!
Thanks for letting me share my own recipe of delicious, healthy mayo!

Just lovely, Caroline! I absolutely love the Peter Pan collar on that jacket! =)
I so appreciate all that you do here ~ both in your business and in your encouragement through this blog! Modesty is dear to my heart and I love how you encourage others to glorify the Lord in this regard.
Blessings to you and your business~

Winter is definitely my favorite season for dressing! Much easier to find shirts and sweaters!
I think it is much harder to find shirts I like for summer. I like color and I like cute prints, but I have trouble with sleeves. So many are a lot shorter than I really like. I think they look bad on my arms! We very often have temps above 100 in the summer so I like something that is cool and comfortable, but I want it to look cute!
Autumn is my favorite season, weather wise and clothes wise. I’m a redhead and autumn colors are the best for my hair and freckled complexion. I love sweaters, wool socks, long sleeves. Winter is good too. Summer is hard. I’ve had breast cancer, have lymphedema so I don’t like my upper arms bare. I had mastectomies without reconstruction and I cannot stand to wear the fake ones in hot weather. I can’t wear light colored tops. Fortunately summer is our shortest season.
