Ha We did the same, and saved our first kiss for the wedding. :-)
In our case, we had very long distance relationship (USA and Australia)so we only spent about 5 weeks total in the same place during our 13 month courtship! So, holding hands during those times didn't seem too terribly dangerous. Haha
